With a/c you cannot play a guessing game. It is all coming down to a technician determining what exactly you have in it for a coolant charge. Basically back to post #6 and having the system drawn down.
Why do you happen to have a recharge can? Had you for whatever reason added coolant yourself?

Maybe about 3 years ago didn’t have enough cold air (only some) so bought a can from Pepboys put some Freon in and ac was back to normal.
But as of a few weeks / months ago (when it started getting hot out) my Yaris started doing what I have said in my previous chats (only cold air at idle, then start driving if warm air, then go back to idle and cold air starts being cold again).
…and that behavior is the same regardless of the ambient temperature because I’ve checked in the middle of the hot day and in the dark evening when it’s cooled off outside.

I cannot offer anything further. A/C is way out of my wheelhouse. Sadly we've lost most of our active automotive technicians here so YW as a resource is hurting.
Good luck to you.

Have you been able to resolve this?

Nope I have not! (Thank you for asking).
The very odd thing is that for 3 straight days after my last message on 6/27, my wife drove the car, as well as I to see it! and the AC WORKED FINE and cool air was flowing constantly even after driving and even during hot days (90-95).

HOWEVER, as of a few days ago when it got even hotter outside (around 100) the issue came back.

I really wanted (and still do) to fix this on my own don’t have the money now ($200) just for a check to see what’s going on…

Last time I replaced the transmission fluid was in 2015 @ 97,000 miles. I got now 134,000.
Could that even be a cause?
