Geez, here is a crankshaft from a container ship main engine!

I like the shrink wrap covering the last cam...ill bet that wrap could fit around 2 Yaris!

I used to work for Maersk in the US and overseas. I would bet a years pay that this ship holds more like 17,000-18,000 TEUS. They always overbuild and low ball the numbers to the press. They did that for the last three classes. S, K and M were all reported 10-20% lower than their actual capacity. Then when some other line builds a "bigger" ship Maersk could already say they had that size capacity.

Nice!!!

Would I need to take an advance knot tying class if I bought one, or would I be rich enough that someone else would be doing the nasty work?

No-one ties knots any more except us old-timers. The best owners are those who are rich enough to not have to tie them, but do so anyway, if you see what I mean.

I think that says it all. I actually learned some of that stuff as a kid and can still tie my own Monkeys Fist key chains and such. Are we all destine to become generic with no individual spirit at some point in history?

It's actually the crank, but uber impressive. Check out the ladder rails to the left you use to climb down to the bottom of the block.
