The enitre lens is RED on those. You wouldnt have a red reverse light. No matter how bright the bulb, surley it would still be red though. (?)

I asked someone (tekmoe) a while back to post pics of their JDM in reverse but never saw them. I also wanted to see the turn signals on at night. I am easily entertained.

But the outter lens is still RED. How is white reverse light coming out of a red lens?

there's a small clear circle in front of the white reverse bulb in the middle of the LED circle. Let me re-pharse. The large circle for the LED is RED the inner circle for the reverse is clear. The actual lens is clear in the intire area of the LED and reverse light.

with the jdm versions you are 100% correct from what I can tell from those photos, but these knockoffs appear to be complete red out from the picture in the first post of this thread, it may just be the angle of the photo but I think these are red out and that would lead me to think the same, that the back up light will have a red hue

hehe it's pretty clever design really, both in the real and replica ones, the circular area of the lens in the brake/reverse light area is actually clear, but because of all the red around it, it's almost impossible to see. But, when the reverse lights are on, the light output remains nice and white

Thats true. Even with the best picture you can tell the center is clear.

Good, be sure to let us know about the reverse location.

My bet is its still on each side of the liscence plate on the rear bumper..

now that it has been established

the more I think about this, I think just the clear circle smoked would look really classy rather than the whole tail

The reverse light is in the centre of the LED as UncleYaris mentioned. Attached is the picture of the JDM LED tail I got, not sure about those replicas though.

I'm getting confirmation about the replicated ones from Critical. He currently has three red RS ones and three modelista ones that are ready to ship out. Critical has confirmed with me that the replicated ones are exactly like the originals so they should have that lens area be clear for the reverse lights. hehe
