How many laptops does it take to tune a Yaris?

Just one for tuning... The other is to crunch numbers for VVT adjustment.

Final numbers will be included in the next SportsCar installment, date yet to be determined.

However, if you can get your hands on the Fall 2010 issue of Toyota Connection, there is a two page spread on the project, with HP#s - although it was the HP before we got the VVT fixed.

I believe Connection is handed out at Toyota sponsored events, such as the Dew Tour and other sporting events.

Nice article in Sportscar. Great work! I should have suspected Robello involvement in the motor.

Easy to work with, quick turn around and understands the rules we have to deal with.

I do not have the files, but I know a great shop. Church Automotive Testing does all of our cars, also tunes a number of World Challange and Rolex cars.

All motor.

SCCA H Prod Level 2 prep rules require/allow: OE fuel injection (including stock manifold and throttle body), max compression ratio of 11.0:1, max cam lift of .390, port matching (max 1" deep). All of the peripherals are open, exhaust, CAI, ECU.

The Runoffs are less than a week away now - well qualifying anyway - and those that want to follow the racing action can see it live.

SCCA has live timing and scoring on its website: http://www.scca.com/event.aspx?hub=1&event=15558 This includes qualifying and race lap times.

And once again Speedcast TV will have live flag to flag coverage of every race: http://speedcasttv.com/scca/

If you follow sports car racing in North America you may have heard of the guys on the broadcast team... The biggest change will be the expansion to two announce crews. Sports car racing fans will recognize the familiar voices of veteran Runoffs announcers Greg Creamer, Dorsey Schroeder, Jim Tretow and John Bisignano throughout the broadcast. Current Runoffs racer Bart Wolf joins as the fifth member of the broadcast team and will work the booth as an analyst alongside Creamer.

Speedcast TV also uploads edited versions of the races, with in-car action added, on the website a few days after the event.

SCCA will also offer a DVD collection for sale around the first of the year.

The Yaris will hit the track for the National Championship race on Sept 25, at 2:30pm (Central). And it is very likely that because the Yaris is such an unusual car for the class it should get some good camera time.
