Just purchased our Yaris on Saturday

We just purchased a white Liftback Yaris on Saturday. We purchased it because of the wonderful gas mileage that it will get and the fact that it has a lot of room for such a small car. I had a Plymouth Colt a long time ago and it reminded me of that little car. So far we are loving it.

Hey there, just checking in from Australia.
Bought a Yaris 3+ months ago. love it a lot.
its the basic model in Australia
1.3l engine, 3 door hatch back, white in color, manual.
After having a mitsi vr4 (2l turbo engine, sedan), I popped the bonnet and looked in the engine bay saying to myself. "what the heck... where's the engine!?!"
Just wish the warranty would hurry up and be over, I want to modif... erm.. play with it...
In the future i'm looking to do some, if not all, of the following:
Turbo kit
big brakes,
suspension and sway bars.
large tires probably 16 inch.
quick shift.

Anyway, catch you round.

The story of the Yaris from PV!

ok I promised that I was going to tell you how was the sorprise to my mom.

All the family and I , went to my sister´s place to drink a coffe and make a little family reunion... So, my two borthers in laws took the car for a ride while mi dad pick up my mom to her job.... When my mom arrives, my two brothers in law, arrive also on the car.. she was very excited, also us.

Yesterday, was the first day that I drove it. (whe that happend was like 2 or 3 days ago) it feels very nice, in the back of the car, there´s a lot of space, I put my dog´s cage there, it´s great! te color of the car is like a ligth green, and inside in in a color beige, with the sun, sometimes looks like a gold color in some places.

Maybe today I´m going to drive it again with a friend to go out for a while.

Ok well that was the story... probably I´ll tell you more if you like ok? take care and I send you hugs!

Adiós amigos! buen fin de semana! (remember that my english is not good, so please try to understand)

photobucket is EXTREMELY easy to use. Just upload your pictures and you'll see that there's a URL link under each picture. Just put your mouse into that field and it'll copy that link. Then just click the yellow button with a mountain on it in these message boards and paste that link and you're done!

Hello everyone, my name is Rich and I have been a silent member of this forum for about a year. Well, I finally got around to actually getting a Yaris, so now it doesn't seem so awkward for me to discuss the car here. Guess a proper introduction is due.

I'm 39 years old and live near Lake City, Florida.

I just picked up a new 2007 manual transaxle Liftback ( Polar White color )and my reflections so far is that I think the design and engineering execution is top-notch for what amounts to an entry level car. I mainly bought my Yaris to have a reliable fuel efficient backup car for personal use.

Yaris brings back memories of what it was like to drive a small 2-door hatchback straight from the new dealership floor. The last time I was able to find anything halfway decent new in a Yaris-esque size was a Ford Festiva, and that was nearly 15 years ago!. BTW, I still keep a Festiva around to bear the brunt of my long distance daily 120-mile work commute. I just can't see subjecting my new Yaris to such mileage yet.

This makes the second Toyota I have owned in my life, and it's been ages since I had one ( previous; a 1983 Supra ). I've mainly been a Ford person all my life, but they have offered nothing in the way of a small car that I like for years. Their marketing and design for their lower end vehicles is far too conservative, heck the only car I like from them costs over 45,000.

What else? Well, my primary hobby ( 22 years ) has been building race cars or anything that has allowed mechanical design, fabrication, and wrenching skills to be put to good use. I also am a professional tool repair technician by trade, which means I am never away from working with tools!

I look forward to reading the posts here and helping anyway I can. I'll try to post of pictures of the Yaris this weekend.

Welcome to posting on the forum. I used to own Festivas also, 3 to be exact. I love those cars. I am even more in love with my Yaris. I look forward to your input on this site!
