I'm running some pretty dark tint all around. If the features are the same, I'd pick one up today. I'd even take a hand reworked beta.

I find that with the sunglasses I currently use, I can't see the clock.
Perhaps I need new sunglasses. However, I am hoping that
this YarGuage will be bright enough to handle the sun and a pair of sunglasses
such as I am using now.

So, I say keep working on it.

The display for the YarGauge may need to have the similar qualities as the Gas gauge, maybe adding a brighter background and contrast adjustment to the LCD it self may help

The clock is a VFD, which is one of the highest contrast type of devices. It might be a polarizing thing though, as to why it doesn't work with your sunglasses.

The gas gauge is a chip-on-glass LCD, but it has a great contrast ratio, that is better than anything I can find off the shelf, that will fit in the required area. The display I am using now is good in all conditions except really bright sun, but in that condition it is nearly unreadable.

I am working on getting a quote for a short run of higher contrast ratio COG LCDs to see if I can justify doing a run with those. In the meantime, I am nearing the point where I am going to put out a couple to have people run them and give some feedback.

You might want to check out alibaba if you haven't already for a suitable screen to keep costs down, I learned over time that you can perhaps source it, if not find something similar and contact them. Keep costs down for yourself.

Funny... I had to google VFD because I always use the term to mean variable frequency drive.
There are some really good alternative acronym definitions here:

Personally, I think you must be referring to very fancy dollies.

That is a very good idea.

a lot of samplers.

CTScott, whats the duration, (how many miles driving with one) are you are looking at for a through feedback on these?
Since I've already swapped to the RS cluster and have a 1800 mile variation from stock mileage on the car~
