Yari #3 is up at TMS. We are going to stop by tomorrow once we get the brake pads in... Hopefully one is done (less the pads) and I can snap some pics.

Also got the first concept graphics for phase one with these two cars, subtle but cool.

Micro Image forums, online store and shop are now closed. It was a great eight year run, but it was time to focus on other things. I'm still selling parts on eBay under micro*image seller ID and customers can still make requests for anything specific.

Autopower did an awesome job. This was the first time we used them for a custom cage, we have used bolt-in stuff from them, but this was the first from scratch. They came in at a great price, and turned both cars out on time.

Best of all, they will now be offering a 4-point bolt-in kit, with optional bars that allow it to be converted to a full cage.

We did have to cut one corner... I wanted the dash bar under the dash, like we have in the HP car, but there were concerns about meeting the deadline because the dash had to be pulled to do it. In the end it does not matter, the stock gauges are not important on the track, and a tach will be mounted behind the wheel.

Those parts are all in the TMS garage, I have no idea where they will end up. We just had to get the cages done and order the rest of the parts, they are doing the heavy lifting this time around.

Announcement from the PRI show regarding spec micro car racing:

ORLANDO, Fla. (Dec. 9, 2010) – With the goal of providing close racing in affordable cars from a variety of manufacturers, Honda and Mazda jointly announce the formation of “B-Spec” Showroom Stock racing.
Honda Performance Development, the racing arm of American Honda Motor Co., Inc.; and MAZDASPEED Motorsports Development, the performance division of Mazda North American Operations, today unveiled their entries for the proposed new low-cost B-Spec, developed from the MAZDA2 and Honda Fit.* Both cars will be on display at the annual Performance Racing Industry trade show in front of 40,000 racing insiders.

B-Spec refers to all cars meeting a common set of rules that can be adopted by any race circuit or sanctioning organization. Together, Honda and Mazda solicited an independent body to develop a set of vehicle specifications that will be available for all to use – the motorsports equivalent of “freeware.”* The final rules should be ready for release within 60 days.

One of the fastest-growing segments of the automobile business, B-segment cars are among the most affordable, and enjoy great support from younger demographics. Two prototypes for the class – a MAZDASPEED-run MAZDA2 and a Honda Fit, prepared and entered by Team Honda Research-West – debuted at last weekend’s 25 Hours of Thunderhill season-ending NASA endurance racing contest in Willows, CA.

Designed to be an entry-level category, B-Spec cars will feature showroom stock racing cars utilizing stock engines and chassis, fitted with a competition roll cage, racing seat and other safety equipment; and manufacturer-approved suspension components, tires and wheels. Will the 3 Yaris be there ?? If not why ?? Your car is to modified right ?? Will the cars have to be current production year ?? Just wondering.

Where? What? Yes. Huh? No idea what the question was.

Still at the office... Nearly done cutting all the graphics for the two new cars. Heading up to TMS tomorrow to finish at least one of them.

Will a Yaris be at the Trade Show as well ?? Maybe I miss read will be on display and thought it has not happened yet. Last part would be would a 2004 ECHO qualify??
