As mentioned earlier - Im a big fan of autometer guages but they belong in my street rod, not my import. Defi guages are just as expensive (unless you buy the knockoffs or non defi-link). They look awsome but the defi link setup runs like 200+ a guage.

One way to copy that gauge cluster would be to make a mold and use fiberglass.
Using that pink hardboard insulation used to insulate outside concrete walls and some whittling tools you could get it into the shape you want. Make a plaster mold of the foam and then use fiberglass, carbon fiber or ABS plastic to make the cluster surround. Eventually I am going to go with the Apexi decs tach. It has a small digital readout that you can use with various sensors. I really want a water temp gauge so it will work perfect. I should be able to mount it to the column cover and tip it forward to access the glove box.

Oh yeah, and I'm really lazy, so the lead time could be months Myself, I was thinking a steering wheel neck pod for a tachometer, kind of like the Mini Cooper, but that particular dash pod really doesn't look too bad. |

How much does the Apexi gauge go for?
I have my eyes on the AIM-Sports complete standalone dash I'm picking one up for my track car, and may just do a second one in the Yaris for kicks |

They start at $600 for the MyChron3 and $900 for the MXL
www.aimsports.com There's a group buy on another forum right now, we're getting around 15% off list... let me know if anyone's serious about picking one up. |

It's actually not that much when you consider everything that's included... this would only make sense if you where planning on picking up a set of guages anyway.
Most decent guages run $80-$140 each, plus the sensors, mounting brkts, etc... you'll easily surpass $400-$600. With the AIM setup you get everything all at once, in a easy to read single cluster for roughly the same price. It's not for everyone, but it would be pretty pimp in a Yaris |

The cheapest I have seen that tach for is $340. Which is sort of rediculous but its slim profile is pretty much one of a kind.
