Ok, so with my canadian Sedan 2008 I have too the silver 08600-00997. Which, I think, do not support aux input.
Also, found the D75 aux audio connector. Now, what are my options in order to get my aux input to work? I guess I need to change the car radio unit. An interesting option would be to buy a used Sedan 2009 unit (satellite ready from the description): As you see, there's already an AUX input built-in. I guess the sizes are the same, would the wiring be the same too? Aka, would it work? It would cost less than 100$CDN shipped. Good buy, or should look at something else? Thanks |

do we know who actually makes the toyota stock decks?
personally you should buy something else, get something aftermarket, the sound quality is just better.

I want to go this route too... I like the stock OEM look personally - so not looking to get an after-market deck. I have an 07 Yaris HB LE. From reading above, even though my radio unit doesnt have an AUX port on front (same unit as Dave's), sounds like it DOES have the necessary aux cable/wiring behind the unit to work were I to buy the above OEM deck w/ the aux input on the face! If I know this will work, I'm going to strart hunting around scrap yards for 08+ yarises that I could just take the oem radio unit out of. Thanks for further feedback... Jem

The extra connector is the aux connector, which would plug into the 4th connector on the back of an aux equipped one:

Yes - There are quite a few aftermarket Toyota Aux interfaces that work through the CD changer port. Here's a $65 one for example: http://www.amazon.com/PIE-TOY-AUX-19.../dp/B0014E9XP4

Has anyone used the GTA Car Kits module? $100 seems pretty reasonable for near-full control through the stock HU, and is about half the price of the cheapest aftermarket HU with ipod/USB interface after factoring in install, wiring harness, and DIN kit.
By the looks of the GTA Car Kit video, the 08600-00999 HU, which is the one in my 07 Canadian Yaris and appears to be the same as other posters, this HU will accept the auxiliary input which is accessible as a "Disc". I'm guessing the modules that are part of the kits are used to a) allow control through the existing HU and, b) convert the output signal from the mp3 player to the correct voltage/resistance range the HU requires. |
