Are they awesome? YES. But I can't see them when I'm driving and have yet to see another on the road. I went thru Japanparts, $395 without connectors. (IMO $18 for 2 pieces of plastic is ABSURD, here's my work-around. I removed the JDM connector and plugged the contacts into the USDM plug after insulating each contact with electrical tape, no problems with shaking or baking. I think the replicas are a good option assuming they are comprable in quality, ie no leaks, condensation, or short life LED wafers. Otherwise I recommend PayPal with Japanparts... lower surcharges |

I'm planning on putting a bead of silicone around the housing to make sure there are no leaks in it before installing it into my car.

no need, the fit is good, just remember to use the plug off the old one, and tighten firmly.

good luck and post some detailed pics From what I've seen they look identical to JDMs from the outside, the backside plastic mold and connector are different, yeah some extra sealer won't hurt

I'm not saying the knockoff ones are prone to letting moisture in, but I'd rather pay a little more than to deal with a random rust issue in some part of the car that I can't see.

No one can truly compare the quality for a few years. Let's see how the LEDs hold up.
I am considering getting a set of red knock offs from jimcat so I can change my lights on a whim. |

they make a tool for repining plugs so you dont have to break the white plugs so you dont trash them.... or needle nose pliers, a soft grip, and a little time, makes it less destructive also.

Looks great, uncle!
Can you confirm if the lens above the backup lamp is clear or red? How do you like them overall? |

Violin, these are not the rep's. These are the real ones. Jim has the rep's but can get the real ones too. BTY I really thought about getting the MOD's like you have but went with the red. I think the MOD's are the best one the silver. Now if JC can get me the sport TRD exhaust, hint JC!!
