Bobby Boy is one of these obnoxious kids who thinks that Obama is something unique and different. He's been dealing with two varieties of Bush, a Clinton and maybe he dimly remembers Ronald Reagan. Bush Jr is probably the most audacious of the lot, and is as much of a Conservative as myself.

In spite of what we've been told, Clinton wasn't a liberal. He was a member of the Democratic Leadership Council. His wife was a liberal and made so many mistakes that it was easy to hem in Bill.

So Bobby has never really lived under a liberal Federal Government.

Jimmy Carter is probably as real to him as Abraham Lincoln. Bobby never had to watch a President on TV proclaim that "America's best days are behind her". In response to the "energy crisis", Carter put on a sweater that made him look elderly, and advised us all to put one on too. To "conserve" energy.

Bobby never had to deal with double digit interest rates, long lines at gas stations, shlepping for a job without contacts and other joys of life under the Man from Plains. He never watched our military get the living shit kicked out of them, for example at Desert One, or watched an aggressive world power push us around in Africa, latin America and other places.

Yeah, lines at gas stations. I remember those real well.

Those of us who lived under Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter remember what an activist Democrat is like, and how much fun it is to cope with stupidity on an assembly line basis from the Three Ring Circus along the Potomac River. Especially when they get strident, like when they dick with prices and cause gas lines or decide that we're gonna do things their way whether we like it or not.

Change? Obama is Jimmy Carter with a darker skin and a better education. The people who suffered most under guys like him were kids without education, contacts and connections.

Bobby is gonna be wailing by 2010, if he's not shot in the head at a gas station because he got cute with another person waiting in line for their ration.

Anyone remember "Odd" and "Even" days? Ever heard of that, Bobby? Better get acquainted with it, it means that you could buy gasoline if the last number on your license plate was either odd or even. If you had an even number and tried to buy gasoline on an odd day you could get fined. You also had a five dollar per gallon minimum per visit. These were meant to curb gas lines, which occur when guys like Obama or Jimmy Carter start to dick with gasoline prices.

Enjoy the Change, Bobby.

Thanks, Gene! Looking forward to it (the end of the old, rich, white, straight men's hold on the Presidency) with great anticipation! I feel Obama will be an awesome President. I'll be a very proud American if Barack Obama is my President! Let's keep our fingers crossed for Tuesday!

Will Bob Barr win? Probably not.

Ya think? Yeah, probably not. Insightful call...

So much for keeping the partisanship out of it.
If Obama wins, I will support him as the President of the US until he takes the country down the wrong road. I hope that it takes a long time, if ever.
The only thing good about the hack is that the political thread disappeared. Now i can't say what Obama would do as President, but I do remember Johnson and Carter. If you think things are bad now, just wait.
I ignored Bobby because he's the typical liberal... talking over anyone who sees things differently than himself. I didn't after the hack because the thread was gone, and so I thought was the reason for his moronic diatribes. Guess I was wrong...
As stated this didn't start as partisan politics... it was a reminder for people to get out a exercise their RIGHT to vote, the same right that guys like McCain, Kerry,
G.H.W. Bush, Kennedy, Truman, and Eisenhower fought for.
WelKKKome back to being IGNORED Bobby, Hope you like your PHIT enough to leave the boards permanently.

You are a bigot. STOP bringing race, age, sexual preference into everything. I am ashamed to know you have the right to vote because as demonstrated/evidenced by your posts you are an embarrassment. You posts make it difficult for everyone involved.

There is a wide cross-section of people here. Every color, race and sexual preference and everyone here accepts that fact. We support everyone but we do not sound radical or prejudice towards anyone. You have made it very clear that you are anti-white, anti age and anti straight.

Get off the bigot bandwagon or not be welcomed here.

Again. Why can't we all get along?
SOME FORUM RULES

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well here are some basic guidelines everyone should try to follow:

This is a Yaris enthusiast community, first and formost we are a community. Please respect each other in this way, be helpful! If someone has a question, no matter how newbie it may seem, be helpful and spread the knowledge you've gained. Everyone has to start somewhere

At times there will be difference of opinions or arguments, never attack other YW members. We will not tolerate this, and we encourage our members to report posts in which someone attacks another member. We will respond quickly to correct the situation, we are a community and a club and will not tolerate trolls, etc...

Added by eTiMaGo:

We're all here for one reason: The Yaris. Whether it's a sedan or liftback, manual or automatic, it's the one reason we come here, right? Now everyone has their own vision for their car, it could be to keep it stock and maximize fuel economy, it could be to turn it into a lightweight, zippy autocross racer, it could be to extract as much acceleration out of it, or turning it to a Fast and Furious-worthy street racer, and so on, or even a little bit of all those. And the great thing is, this car has the potential to be all those things, even if you agree or not. And that's probably the problem, this forum attracts Yaris owners or prospective owners from all walks of life. We have 60-somethings, we have working people who depend on the car as a tool to get them from place to place, we have kids who just want to have the coolest car on the block, and all those visions are important to those people. Sure, it's fun to make jokes of the guy who's done some ricer kinda mods to his car, sure, it may be frustrating to see people so hell-bent on extracting performance out of a car that has not been designed to have much performance in the first place. But so what? If you think you know better, just leave a warning, and leave it at that. When someone doesn't follow your advice and gets burned in some way, then you have all the right to say "I told ya so". A fool and his money are soon parted, I believe the saying goes...

Partisanship has caused to many hurt and bad feelings here already. Lets keep it light and have fun. This was just a thread to inspire a person to vote, not show one side or the other favor. We still all agree on at least one thing, and thats the love of our little cars.

Agreed...

Abscentee voting is responsible for way to many forms of voting fraud that I almost believe they should do away with it, aside from military personnel stationed overseas who can't come home to vote, and elderly. You want to vote, get off your lazy ass and take the initiative to go to where you are registered. If you move and failed to re-register, tuff shit, it's no secret when elections are held. You should be accountable for your own vote and agencies like ACORN shouldn't even exist.

This is NOT an attack on you... I just hope your vote isn't lost before the election.

I see your point, and I know you meant nothing in your approach to offend, but to be honest it's had to vote if you have other obligations on election day. I work and my employer has an under developed sense of humor when it comes to my civic duty. I'll take the chance, as long as I know I tried thats the best anyone can do.
