manufacturer told me these were designed to fit on the stock 15" alloys at the minimum But why hide them behind such boring wheels?

Garm feels there is a pronounced rear shift. I can't really say since I have non-stock front brakes.

Runstop, the manufacturr, recommends also upgrading the front brakes with at the very minimum some higher performance pads (and even better, their front large rotor kit as well, naturally )

There's no need for a proportioning valve with this kit. It's designed for the car, and while I haven't scientifically tested it, I will say I think the rear brakes are doing more of the work with the conversion installed.

Yes, I installed them myself. If you don't feel confortable doing brakes then you should
have somebody do it for you. Everything was pretty straight forward. The only thing
that I needed to adjust was my e-brake cable.
