Trust me when I say this , you will NOT like the solid motor mounts . Unless you plan on wearing thick gloves . Even then you will feel it . Your BODY will become the vibration damper . I bet you won't last 2 weeks . I lasted 2 days .
Not only that , but it willl more than likely break your power steering lines . SERIOUSLY . Trust me I already made that mistake

Hmm , that is right . No power steering lines . I put solid mounts in my Eclipse and they broke the power steering lines thats what made me think of that . My meds are still working very well evidently

I've been playing with this thing for a few months...
![]() Garm has even tried to lend a hand. Unfortunately not much progress has been made thus far. We'll see what happens this summer... |

There is a product that is called quicksteel. You can use it to make completely solid motor mounts. Cost about 8 bucks at kragens. You may need 2 tubes. |

I love momentum.

I'm thinking about trying to make quicksteel mounts myself. I've heard they are similar in stiffness to the higher durometer poly mounts.
On my old GTi I repaced the front rubber mount with a poly one and it was wonderful. The motor felt like it was part of the car again. Shifting was improved, throttle response, etc. I hope someone comes out with something similar. Solid (metal) mounts are too much though... |

htm brought up a good point....if you increase durability in one thing everything else is still at that lower level.....ie. fluid lines. wiring. etc.

The person who posted that also said to help a little bit with the vibration, you should drill several small holes through the entire mount, to give it some "give" room. It is a great idea, especially considering we only have two main mounts. One on the upper passenger side, and one at the tranny. I deffinately don't recommend solid mounts, but the black goop stuff with some holes in it may be a perfect solution. AND, if you start off with 3 or 4 holes, and it's still too solid, just drill one or two more at time until it feels right. Easy enough for me.
