No, when most people drive, not every single action, thought and movement is devoted to squeezing every single tenth of a cent out of the money being spent on their next tank of fuel.

The point wasn't about conservation, it was about BailOut saying that no one needs more power, they just want it, but they more than likely don't drive like BailOut, and never will; that was my point.

Why mod a Yaris?
That's like asking why Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa. He could have saved a lot of time and money just paying a bum on the street to sketch it really quick. But, his passion was to create beauty, in his own eyes, from a blank canvas.

Why modify your hair or clothes in the morning (stfu bald people)? Why put in time on a tread mill or working out your body? Why mow the lawn? If stock is good enough, you should be good to go in all categories.

It's a fun car to start with, so why not make it more fun, especially if it satisfies one's desire to put a personal touch on something to make it different or special. If nothing else, when you pass a stock Yaris on the road, you can imagine the other driver thinking, "I didn't see those options" or "That must be the S model..."

Your argument does not support your idea. da Vinci created his own works. Bolting on other people's inventions is the equivalent of paying a bum to sketch things out, and having shops install things for you or having a body shop do things for you is the equivalent of paying a bum to both sketch things out and paint it for you; all you did was possibly gather some of the supplies.

The simple cosmetic things that some folks do require very little skill, if any, and are the creative equivalent of wrapping a gift.

Let's not embellish things.

Ha. Ouch. I see both your points though. I have to agree that my first modded car, which was just a nice car with random expensive upgrades installed by professionals got me nowhere near the praise I've received for my Yaris, which I have been far more subtle with and did the work myself.

i have and will continue to mod my yaris. for speed and a custom look. don't see what's wrong with that. sorry i don't have the desire to drive like an old woman. and sorry i don't want everything on my car to be stock looking.

to me the stock yaris has enough power, yes, but why not make a hobby out of trying to make it faster. some of us actually like learning about and working on cars. why can't that car be the yaris? one could argue that no matter what car you are modding there is always going to be another one that's faster.

and btw i don't know that i've ever broke a sweat and bled while wrapping a gift.

Nor have I ever looked at a wrapped gift with real pride for a job well done. :)

Mainly cause all my wrapping jobs look like crap. :p

I don;t believe i've ever seen a thread go so far off track. This car has plenty of pep for my driving, I'de just wreck a faster car.

I which I caould find better handle out of thii car I have the TRD Shock..springs.Rear sway bar, and it is still dangerously understears. I'm going to try the camber bolts, whish I cauld find a DIY threard on the camber bolts.

But all in all 0-60 in under 8 seconds is fast enough for communting. The curves and hills on my commute are the issue. Nothing like my Koni suspensioned EG civic. The Yaris handling is quirky, very responsive but quirky and that damn understeer prevents me from testing the limits of the car.

Try an aftermarket intake.i bought an AEM..i did and it made a great improvement in Hp and TQ as well as using 91 octane gas..u have to give the chance for the ecu to adjust..once it does ..it becomes much quicker and still gets 40+mpg
