Well, the problem is, that hood is designed more for the extraction of hot air from the engine bay.. you could use it with an intercooler, but there would not be much of a point as you'd be passing hot air through it!

A normal hood scoop forces cool outside air through the fins of the intercooler, which is far more effective.

I don't see the problem there.

Imagine that all turbocharged Scoobys have the intercooler mounted on top of the engine.

What I mean is, look at the hood that ChinoCharles mentioned, the holes basically face toward the back of the car, designed for air coming out. Subaru (for example, other cars have intercooler scoops too!), have the holes facing forward, so that when you drive, the incoming cool air is forced into the engine bay.

...and most of the guys who are serious end up moving them to the front (FMIC). plenty of kits to convert it.

Generally, it is the best solution cause there is a lot of cold air in front of the car.

right. thats why i said that when you said subbies have it as a TMIC. Despite the air scoop on the wrx/impreza, the guys who are trying to eek out more HP, end up going with a FMIC.

except with a bigger engine...
but seem like the bigger engine isn't that much different too...
almost same acceleration... same fuel econ...

I talked few salesperson at my dealership about yaris ts version.
some of them didn't even know what i was talking about.. sigh..
one salesman had pic cut off from newpaper and showed me.
the newpaper (The province Oct.06) was saying Yaris TS will be coming out early 2007 in North America.
so i asked our sales manager and he told me Yaris TS might be selling in US but not in Canada..
sad story for Canadians... hope he is wrong..

I would take what he said with a grain of salt. For me it seems odd that IF Toyota sold the TS here it would be in Canada as well...small cars are more popular there and besides I believe the Canada was the first debut of this current gen Yaris. Maybe Toyota doesn't want to cancel out the RS model in Canada, but who knows! Its speculation. I have my doubts about N/A, at least in the near future...We'll see!
