I don't mind people who creep in their boring old automatic transmissions.

I never creep because 1) waste of gas 2) waste of clutch

-Tailgaters are the absolute worst. Especially when it's a 4-lane and no one is beside you, yet they feel the need to ride your butt - also the people who feel the need to flash their high beams at you and honk while doing this should have their tires slashed

-If I am turning right at a red light, and the oncoming traffic has an advance green to turn left, YOU DO NOT TURN INTO THE RIGHT LANE. You have to stay in the left lane, put your signal on, THEN change to the right lane. I've almost been squashed by trucks & SUVs who think they can just go to whatever lane they want.

well a relative pulled out in front of a pick up truck this evening which totaled the relatives car . Had to be removed with jaws of life . Ended up with a broken arm and neck brace . Not sure about other driver . Thankfully wasn't worst .

worst yet is when someone passes you on a blind corner that has a double line . Had a few close calls thanks to these bungholes . That's why
I drive on outer edge of road on corners . Just to give more time to get off it if needed .

Hi,

I can't put my list, because people who do stupid things on the roads, well it would be so long to whrite, we'll be sitting here until tomorrow morning :D
Here in Quebec and also in France (I'm from there), drivers are as "good" as what you describe, with their cars, a nightmare. I'm not considering myself a good driver, but I'm beeing careful, a bit heavy on the speedo, but otherwise no hectic behaviour.

Let's hope it is going to be better sometimes.

-People who their right signal on and change lanes into the left lane.

-When your doing 70mph in the middle lane and someone is tailgating you to go faster when both left and right lane is open.

-People who put their hazards on when their car is breaking down and they do 40mph in the middle lane and everyone is swirving around them and a big truck crashes in to the back of them and the truck driver dies and the woman lives and the news says she has family in haiti so we are suppose to feel some sympathy for her after she killed a 52 year old truck driver because she knew her car had problems and insisted to drive on the highway and not the service road.

-People who slow down to 45mph on the highway because a cop pulled over someone (big deal)

-People who drive with their high beams on

-People who drive with their high beams on cuz one light is out, so its only 1 highbeam in your mirror blinding you (thats why I got dark tints not so much for looks, just for the high beam issue and big trucks behind me blind me with their lights lol)

-Drunk drivers

-People who look like they are drunk driving but they are really just on their cell phone.

What is funny to watch is:

-when your at a red light and you see the guys girlfriend yelling at him in your rear view mirror, lol could just imagine what she is saying and what he is thinking

Are you one of those people, who while waiting for the light to turn red, keep inching forward, closer towards the car in front of you who is also stopped by the way? Why do people do this? Do they feel that by "pressing on the car" the light will change faster? ugh!

2. Shifting From Reverse to Drive Without Coming to a Complete Stop

I cringe when someone is giving me a ride somewhere and they do this. It just gets to me. I feel like they are putting uneeded stress on the tranny. Is it really so hard to stop, then shift? Gurr!
Yes I agree on first one. I hate when I stop behind a car and then the inch ahead and pretty soon there is 15 feet of open space. I have a manual and do not want to use the clutch more than necessary.

One that I hate more is the cars that stop with 20+ feet of room behind another car. When someone does this to me and there is a turn lane to the left side I just go around them and cut back in the open spot.

That is a pretty ignorant statement, and people who don't slow down for that officer are one thing that pisses me off. I applaud those who slow down for that officer's safety. He has a family to go home to also. I'm sorry to hear that people doing their job upset you, show some respect the next time you pass an officer making a traffic stop by slowing down

In Tennessee it's the law that you must move over to the lane away from the stopped police car, or if that's not possible, slow down and pass very cautiously. Both are simply common sense and shouldn't require a law.

I do find it annoying when people who've just zoomed by me as I drive the speed limit see a police car running radar and slow down well below the speed limit, making me have to brake.

Agreed.. Also at night, when a car is stopped with emergency flashers, I'll flick my high beams on for a few seconds as I drive by...

One time there was a car stopped at night with the emergency lights on and I didn't see it until I got real close that the driver was down on the ground lifting his car up with a jack on the side facing the highway.. Scared the crap out of me, for sure... So that's why I put the high beams on for a moment.

Another time, a car was stopped with emergency flashers and I started shifting into the left lane and as I'm moving over my lights start reflecting on this deer that's just standing there in the left lane across from the car with the emergency blinkers. Swerved back over to the right lane and squeezed between the deer on my left and the car with emergency blinkers on the right (he was way far over off the road anyway). Definitely good idea to slow down when you see a car with emergency blinkers, you can't guess what the problem is from afar..

people who take more than 1/10 of a second to go on a green, people with ipods in ears, and finally people who jump onto an on/off ramp to get ahead of a car. I just gas it and force them to either ditch or take it

I'm so glad that this thread was resurrected from the dead. Never saw it before today!

My thing that gets on my nerves. Near my house there is a hill you go down with a "off ramp" that goes to the right. However, it merges into a one lane road and the "off ramp" effectively becomes the second lane. So, there's no reason to stop or yield to oncoming traffic, because there isn't any.

At least once or twice a month I get behind someone that decides it's 100% necessary to just stop in the middle of the road there and yield to no one at all.

You would never survive around here .. as what you have described is so minor in nature compared to what you really would have to deal with. It is all about patience ... cause the average driver is just clueless.

What you are describing is a free flow lane and mostly there are signs indicating it as such. The good thing .. is that SOME people actually do the right thing.

Myself .. if I do something stupid, I am doing it on purpose and am fully aware that I am stupid. Fortunately I don't have to resort to driving like this that often.

Oh, I know it's minor, it's just one of those "WTF are you doing?" things that just irks me. I'm sure we could all fill this thread with a zillion little things that aren't a big deal but just get under our nerves.
