Where online? how much was shipping? maybe it's not so bad. Consider the time you have to wait to get them by mail...

Yeah, I wanted it asap. There was one on amazon and another place too. I can't imagine shipping being more than a couple bucks.

The stereo works fine, but the display won't show. I had to memorize all of the menus in order to work it properly. I'm still not sure about replacing it or not. I mean, it would be nice to have a display, but $$$ is a barrier. If I were to replace it, I would replace it with a double din receiver. Just leads me to think, if I'm going to get a double din I might as well get a NAV and DVD option with it as well. Hmmmm, also I'm a freak about things matching and my speedometer and all that lights up green at night. I would want them to match. So, unless I can change the color of the odometer and all that, I would want to get a faceplate that lights up green.

What do you guys think about these?

I'd be nice if it came with a remote too. :)

Some of them prices are up there, i'd check locally just because if you're going to spend 800 bucks and the deck messes up in two months, it's going to be a Biatch sending it back and getting them to replace it on there 1 year manufactures warranty, the first thing they'll ask is " was this installed by a certified dealer "

I got my Jvc 3.5 inch two years ago used from a buddy of mine, that thing still works fine, he only used it about six months, and i believe he bought it online. I only paid 150 bucks for it, so if it lasted me six months, it's a deal, hell i'm going on three years this September with that dvd player. I'm lucky i guess, cause i've heard some horror stories.

Horror stories from that same receiver, double din receivers, or receivers in general? I'm so stuck on this decision, I don't know how to make the choice. I know I don't want to pay more than 300 on it. And, even that is a stretch on my low income.

I'm paycheck to paycheck as well, so i know exactly how it is, You ever shopped on Amazon.com ? They have some okay priced Pioneer Double dins and they have a few motarized flip up screens, there shipping is usually on point, and if you've never opened an account with them you can get a free prime membership for like a month and get stuff 1 day shipped for like 4 bucks. If you do the prime, you can get free shipping and pay like 99 cents on phone cases, Ipod accessories, and different electronic wiring. Bit off topic but you'd be suprised on how thankful the wife would be with a whole charger set for her phone, or a case, she'll think you spent some serious cash and forget about how much you spent on the car = )

I've only bought books and movies from Amazon. I'll check out their deals. Hey man, anything we can pull out of our sleeve to keep the wife happy is worthwhile sharing!

For the sub woofer recommendation, what is best the dual 2 ohm or the dual 4 ohm?
