That's the only bright side when gas prices goes up. Laughing at all the SUV/Hummers/Truck owners.

It's easy to laugh at truck owners, but in my case it's a fact of life, I have to use my truck. None of my other Toyotas are able to do what my Tundra does, between towing my 14' open trailer with building materials, tractors, and even cars, to my 20'x8.5' enclosed trailer, that hauls my Celica racecar, nothing else will do it. At the current price here, it will cost me nearly $80 to fill my Tundra, and if I baby it I might get 20-22mpg empty, if I have to tow the enclosed trailer with a load, I'd be luck to get 13-15mpg. If my wife hadn't just found a new job after being laid off before Thanksgiving, I'd really be scrambling just fo keep fuel in my fleet!!

A lot more than prices at the pump are linked to the price of a barrel of oil. Sooner or later the cost of most everything will increase.

Wonder if people will again start to torch their gas guzzlers to get out of their loans . This was due to the big hit in resale value and owners of the guzzlers being turned away because the dealerships had to many and couldn't sell them .

I love my 11mpg Landcruiser, it just wasn't built to be a daily driver. It has a specific purpose in my life. My new Yaris also has a specific purpose in my life and I love it as well.
Got 38.5mpg on my first tank. About 1/2 city 1/2 hwy, low tire pressure a couple of days and about 1/3 of that tank with wife and daughter on board. Sure beats 11mpg for commuting. |

I just saw gas for 144.9 cents per litre (I live in Australia and yes thats how we spell liter).
That would be the equivalent of $5.49 a gallon in the USA.

Currently at 3.35 per gallon here in western Pennsylvania. I am interested as well to see how this plays out for those with much Thirstier vehicles.

I thought I saw a summary of "where your money goes" of the American food/agriculture market saying that transportation cost only accounted for 6% of the cost you pay in the store. Thus a slight increase in gas prices is a lousy excuse to turn up the prices...

Currently petrol here costs 6.40$ a gallon (US) that's 1,70 euro/l
The goverment is doing a research why the prices sky rocketing over here. But i think the end isn't in sight. $67 for an SUV that's hilarious; it's almost the same price wich i pay for the cheaper diesel over here for my Yaris... |

We have a monthly payment of less than $130 for the 2010 . Cost over twice as much a month to fill up many S.U.V.s , mini vans , etc..

US $3.51 (Shell) or US $3.35 (BP) per gallon depending on where one goes to fill up here in Leesburg, FL. I was feeling grumpy when last I filled up at US $3.09/gl 10 days ago.
