I heard that Ford owns part of Peugeot (or the company that makes them.) Don't quote me on that as I'm not too sure of it myself.

i gotta admit, the exterior and interior design aint thaaat bad. almost every mazda out there looks pretty damn good, even their mazda5, which we considered alongside our sienna. but the interior layout will make any aftermarket stereos and/or in-dash navis quite difficult. and the fun of getting these inexpensive compacts is customizing the crap out of it...

Def not gonna be in the same price range as the Yaris. I do like that shifter placement though.

I don't see how it couldn't be in the Yaris price range... you can get a Mazda 3 starting @ $14,500, so a step down would inherently be a few thousand less.

no need to panic now...
it's not a competition for yaris...
according to most internet resources,
ford is not even planning to bring it over here... at least not in a short time...
one guy in a mazda forum even emailed mazda... they said no plan to bring it here...
ford will bring a crappy version of this here though...
it will be made in brazil...
as usual... ford always keep better cars out of america...
so... yaris will still rule...

i really like the look of the new mazda 2's.......they really styled it up....(copying the yaris) ha

but the grille where the mazda symbol is could use some work, they shouldnt have put those 2 wing things on the grille.
