Yea .. the new Yaris in Baltimore would be a good buy. You can almost never go wrong with new.

One car dealership I went to in the past .. had me sold on the car and then sprung like a 9% annual interest rate on me. I did the quick math .. and told them forget it. These days anything over 3% I would say is too much. All I am saying is don't let the dealership blind side you when it comes to the money part. Just be prepared to walk away if you do not get the deal you want.

I am pre-approved through my credit union for $11,000 or more if I need it. I am a 760 so my rate is 2.99. Not bad.

I will probably play a bit with this car. Some TRD shocks/springs and a rear sway and some 15 in light weight wheels should do nicely.

White or black, there are 2 manual trans 3 door L models for $12,600.

LIKES - ipod hook up, looks, price obviously, practical, looks pretty cool in white or black.

DISLIKES- no tachometer....wierd. I am sure there is a way to install one like the sport version.

I have a black Yaris ... and I would totally recommend that you DO NOT get a black one. They are almost impossible to keep clean. You can take it to the car wash .. and it looks like crap the next day. Just my 2 cents.

I think that white would be a good choice as I haven't seen people here complaining about their white cars.

A BIT more than I was thinking....

Price breakdown on that 2012 Yaris L 3 Door in the link.

$12,600
+ 760 freight
+ 200 Maryland Fee
+ 218 Dealer Fee
---------------------
13,779 + NJ Tax

14,743 + NJ Tags...... I don't know, about $15,000 out the door now.

$16,100 OTD for a new Accent Hatch manual GS
$13,100 OTD for a 2010 Yaris Hatch manual 8k miles
$11,100 OTD for a 2007 Yaris Hatch manual 27K miles

It keeps going up and up, ha ha.

FWIW, I bought my '08 hatch in '10 with 40k miles on it, and paid just shy of $10k out the door (though it was cash, no financing for me). If you can get those prices to include T,T & L, that's not a horrible price.

Also, as far as the TRD parts go, 99.9% of the time they're re-branded parts from other companies. Do some searching (specifically on http://shop.microimageonline.com ) and you'll find parts as good, or better, than TRD for comparable cost, or even cheaper.

I am probably getting that blue 2010 hatchback tomorrow. I can't find a good link to see if Toyota's warranty transfers over to me or not.

I hope I like it.

I know.

I am putting this on hold and just going with the 2010 tomorrow unless I find something ridicuously awesome. I can't go shopping like normal, I have to do it on the internet. N. New Jersey is rural. The closest dealer is a Ford dealer in Warwick NY and they want too much for their Fiestas and Focus.

Hyundais are good little cars.
The one our new Yaris replaced was a 19 year old Excel that still ran perfectly when we sold it.

A 2012 Hyundai 6 speed was our first choice... but they don't make a simple 2 door base hatchback without all the electrical crap.

We're totally pleased with the Yaris.

For that type of money I would also check out buying one brand new as well first. $10k is most of the car, and some dealers are throwing in 2 years of all maintenance and other crazy perks.

The Toyota certification is not really needed, some dealerships will drop it and the extra money it costs them as well. But def go with the one with the lower mileage.

I just got a 2008 Yaris lift (3 Door) atuo (I do not know how to drive stick), Silver, with 33200 miles on it from the Certified preown Toyota dealer for $8000 (with certification, high NYC, NYS, Fed tax, rip off NYS registration, emission test to be $9350)

I think that is a good price (I cannot add the tax and registration as the cost of the car since that is not part of the car)... what do you guys think?

For some reasons, I just do not trust the Hyundai... I do not know why but there are just too many people with too many problems with that brand. It is good that your Hyundai lasted so many years, make it worthy!

My neighbors 1993 Hyundai must be 19 years old by now. I remember going to the junkyard to get parts for it when it was three years old. There must have been a dozen other 93s there to pick parts from!

I bet hisin is still in there with themses.

I'm not much for red cars, but the Yaris in red looks really cute on the road (quite a few Toyotas around these parts). I got mine in Meteorite Metallic because my Suzuki Swift looked so awesome in silver, but the Yaris -- not so much! It really depends on the car's configuration/shape itself, I've decided. Some "wear" certain colors better than others.

BTW, when I was tempted to buy that grasshopper green 2012 Mazda2 Sport for $15,000 (I think I'm over that now), I told friends I'd expect to get $12k for my 2008 Yaris; they thought I was crazy, but that's what they go for -- apparently!
