My local dealer lumps the factory rebate and loyalty rebate together and just refers to it as a factory rebate . Auto dealers have quite a bit of pull in Austin .

Mitsubishi site states $750 before negotiating price . http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/j...om/overview.do then click on SPECIAL OFFERS . $12,500 isn't that shabby for the DE . This must be the manual ? Maybe the rebate is different state by state or region .

Went to KORUM Mitsubishi site of Puyallup , Wa. and states $750 rebate before the Owner Loyalty Discount . Clicked on NEW VEHICLES , then click on VEHICLE DETAILS , and then on the Up To $750 In Rebates box . Must be a misprint , there's a Mystic Black DE with a dealer discount of $3.496 and a $750 rebate . List is $15,995 , their price is $11,749 . Then there's an ES ( Plasma Purple ) for $14,181 . List is $17,865 less their discount of $2,934 and the $750 rebate from Mitsubishi .

Probably the C.V.T., the other doesn't like manuals . The manual would give a little more go off a start . I find manuals more fun . Keeps you on your toes as well .

Wow, I forgot about that car. It was though my favorite rental car in Central America way back in the day.

Just test drove a Mirage. My current is 2012 Yaris. The Mirage is very good for the price with the auto climate control, power windows, locks standard. The instrument cluster is where the Mirage is lacking. It just looks cheaper, it is missing an analog fuel gauge. Also the trip computer screen is smaller and does not provide real time mpg consumption, just the average. I would say the trunk is bigger on the Mirage as well as deeper. It would also appear that it gets slightly better mpg's too. As many reviews mentioned, the wind noise is very noticeable on the highway. If that and the instrument cluster were a little nicer it would be a sure buy for me.
My choice would be a Red DE manual with fog lights. |

It would take a few weeks for me to break my habit of always watching the instant mpg. All in all I still feel the Yaris is a better car. I just wish we could get an upgraded engine that could match the mirage mpg
