Yea, that was what I was afraid of. I think I should just use the sensor the gauge came with instead. When I do my water pump, I will install this at the same time while the coolant is drained.

Just wanted to update my new tire info and give some feedback. I went with 195/50R15 Z2 star specs on the 15x7s and 195/55R15 DZ102s on the 15x6.5s. The 102s ride nicely and hold up well in the corners. The Z2s held up well at reasonable pressures and behaved themselves under heavy cornering. It's gonna take a while to re-learn how to drive it, but I have high hopes.
*edit* I also have an update on the LSD: having a proper alignment makes a world of difference with inside wheel spin. Even with my near-bald snow tires, I was able to gain huge amounts of traction coming out of a corner on my daily commute. I've finally got my summer tires on, so I'll give them a good flogging today on the way to/from work to make sure that's still the case. Last edited by CrankyOldMan; 04-27-2015 at 06:48 AM. |

I normally run in West Michigan Region, but they haven't had any events since 2013. Hence the traveling to South Bend. I plan on running the rest of their events at that site, but the other locations are just too far for now. I'm also getting into rallyX this year with Detroit Region and Furrin Group (furrin.org).

Cranky, you are running LSD in STF?
I have not tried the Z2 or Star specs. I tell you though, Rivals are in my favor. I am still waiting on my Rival S to come in. They are taking their sweet time.

Oh, no, I haven't been in STF for a while. I'm just here for the tire advice. =)

Oh wow, I didn't know YW had a STF thread. I used to post on MI as 2007TRD years ago, here too at some point. I've been competing in SCCA solo for 1.5 years now, in San Diego and now in NorCal. Just finished a back-to-back National Tour (2nd)and Pro Solo (5th)at Crows Landing. Let me know where I can drop a photo of my Sedan.

Drop it right here.. We don't complain about random photo's. unless I have to scroll left or right to see it, then I get frustrated.
WHAT! You and Alvin have been talked about here a couple of time... I root for you guys every time I look at the attendance for the west coast. I finished my National tour here at Dixie back in March. Was able to squeeze a 1st place. Joseph Austin is a damn good driver too. Only if he can pull a clean run. It's either the fastest run or coned run for him, haha. He has come down to our region a couple of times.

Apparently you can't post pictures on here from FB? I don't have a hosting site...
Great job on the Win....or wins shall I say. I see you do really well. Joseph is really cool, he gives good advice and is a real help to the sport and class. Mike H. In his RSX raped us at the Pro, but I Was able to take down a SSP R8 in the bonus round! |

So, I don't know if anyone remembers, but there was a discussion in another thread about the Yaris, Versa, and fit were not listed in the FSP class for SCCA Autocross. They went straight from STF to SMF. Yea, it was back in February. Anywho!
Thanks to Jason and a couple other that schooled me about classes when I said the Yaris goes to FSP for certain modifications, I put in a petition to get them added to the FSP list. 4 months later, they just released the FastTrack rule change. YAY! #16432 Yaris, Fit, Versa Classing Proposal Per the SPAC, add the following new listings in Appendix A, effective immediately upon publication: FSP Honda Fit Nissan Versa (2007-15) Toyota Yaris

OOOOooo... question about your brake pads. I am running the HPS Hawk pads but to be honest, they feel like OEM pads. Hawk doesn't offer HP pads on their website, did you have them custom make them? or do you have to call to special order them? I ask because I just received my $100 certificate from nationals and I have no use for it now.
