After getting an iPhone I haven't used my laptop at all, its in the back of a closet collecting dust. But it could perhaps come out of the closet to play with the YarGauge.

I think I would be able to make a Linux version of the app if you were to release the source code. I'm currently in the process of learning Python, so this could be the perfect project for me to tackle.

I've done some iPhone and now iPad development. Eventually I'd like to add a WiFi interface and create a nice app for it.

That's what I was thinking - That if I publish the protocol for the USB comm, Linux, Mac, etc. people can write their own apps for it.

That'll be swell! I'd be making myself a display with no clock, as I already have time shown on my stereo... I only want to see MPG, RPM, OAT and maybe something else...
I'm afraid the Yaris will rust into little pieces before you get it finished though!! |

I think I've got all of the functionality done for the main device. Now, I am working on buttoning up the ability for the PC interface to be able to read and clear DTCs on the rest of the body ECUs. On Wednesday I received the last ECU that I was missing for my test bench (the ABS ECU), so I now have a completely functional Yaris network on my test bench.

I forget what, but did you need any model year ecu, or did it have to be specifically a 2008 abs ecu in order to figure out the jdm cluster even more? And glad to hear your yargauge is in the final stage now. |

The ABS ECU is off an 08. I still need an 08 ABS equipped ECM to sort out the JDM cluster issue.

I do embedded stuff, I would love to see more info on this. Are you using pic/prop/or something else? Looks good though. I though of making one of these out of my ybox2, or a beagleboard I had laying around.

I am using two PICs - One is dedicated to handling the CAN Bus communication and the other drives the UI and deals with the analog signals.
