haha, sorry. Should give credit where credit is due
but what I ment to say was i thought you re-colerd them by some other means. I tried perm marker... works, but you have be careful not to smudge them; hence my looking into different means of coloring them.

Thats whats i was looking to due, but as of now if you remove the green cover the light is to "yellow" for my taste; with a blue marker (atleast how mines turned out so far) it doesnt actually look blue as much as it does more like the speedo custer backlight... and thats the look I'm going for

So we're not exactly pioneers:
http://www.scionlife.com/forums/view...r=asc&&start=0 http://www.clubxb.com/forums/f19/424...-no-soldering/ Looks like I'll be disappointed with the blue covers. They say it will look dark green. I may end up getting blue LEDs afterall. |

I believe the blue covers will look blue. Just have to try it out and see for youself.
Though if white covers was an option i would get them no doubt. But they dont. And they didnt have blue too, so i had to go with red. They had Pink and orange too!! OOOOOO

Those neo wedge bulbs are what we have in the liftback ventilation controls. I think the auto gear shift uses a #74.

The little blue light bulb condoms came today. Unfortunately, they're way too big. I deleted the link further up in the thread to avoid confusion.
I'll be ordering those LEDs from http://autolumination.com/74.htm For the gear shift I'll get the tri-power #74. Neo-wedge for the knobs. Last edited by Violin; 10-17-2006 at 08:33 PM. |

5mm?
We don't do no stinkin' metrics here. Whatever they are, the diameter is way too big. I'm mailing them back. |

Violin's condoms were too large for him... that could be understood in a very very embarassing way, dude
But back on topic, LEDs should certainly give a better result, you are getting the light emitted in the color you want, not filtered through some colored plastic (which basically absorbs brightness). Can't wait to see it |

Ok, #74 for the Shift Light, but umm... there are like 10 Different "Neo" Wedge bulbs, have we Identified exactly which one for our Yaris? (HB)
Options are: Neo - Wedge Instrument Panel Bulbs are 10mm (3/8") diameter x 13mm (1/2") high 17022 Neo - Wedge Instrument Panel Bulbs are 12mm (3/8") diameter x 21mm (13/16") high Or there are a whole bunch of LED Ones, do we know which matches up with our size? #74 for the Shifter though, I'd just like to be able to order them all in one fell swoop. |
