This is what your looking for. It will take your 118MPH limiter off. Make sure that tires can handle the speed, basic S class tires are only rated for 112MPH. I also heard a rumor that you can remove the limiter when you change the clutch probably just a rumor though. Q answered!

If you think going 85 MPH is insane, wait until you see what happens at 88 MPH.

That said, I remember reading a while back that if you pull the e-brake one click (just enough to trigger the light but not enough to make contact with the drum) it would disable the governor. BUNCH OF LIES. D: My hatch fell flat on her face at 115 MPH, which was kind of frustrating, because it felt like she had enough gun to hit 125.

Tailwind? Not sure. I didn't check the weather conditions at the time. But she had life left in her. Looks like I'll have to look into the SLD once forced induction is factored into the equation.

By the way, a side note: a tire's speed rating is to show the maximum speed/friction the tire is capable of handling at max load at 100% constant speed. Short bursts above the rating are at your own risk, but I haven't had a failure yet. My 1987 Supra Turbo was wearing some kind of economy R-rated tire (106 MPH) and I had her up to 165 with no blowout... but again, and I can't stress this enough, it's at your own risk. But you SHOULDN'T have much of a problem if it's just a blast to top speed and then back down to 65 MPH.

im pretty sure the yaris doesnt have a limiter or it could b set at 130+ i could b wrong but iv had my car up to 122 goin down hill and was not bouncing revlimiter i think aerodynamics and hp just dont allow the car to go any faster. unfortunatly eggs arent built for speed.

Gee DarkYaris, didn't you know you were buying a speed limiter when you wrote Toyota Canada a cheque for your Yaris?

I've owned some cars that with 50/50 weighting that handled great - a BMW 3 series and an RX-8 to name a couple. But nothing handled the switchbacks or was funner to drive on winding mountain roads than my Yaris with simple DF210 springs, stock shocks/struts and some sticky 17s. Plus I could buy Red Bulls with the cash I saved at the pump on my road trip.

If you want to go that fast in a straight line, though, do something safer - like getting shot out of a cannon.

^ lmaooo.

Wouldnt a car start reaching its max rev when its topping out?

someone told me the regulator on the yaris really is 115 - 120.
hence why NOONE in this thread has gone over 120 (straight away)

my yaris def felt like it had more to give when i was at 115.
(^if anybody asks x that statement is false btw)

The Yaris definitely has a speed limiter, and a rev limiter. They work independently. Are you on stock wheels and tires?

im actually really curios now cuz i have the auto and in 3 gear it hits rev limiter at 110 so 4th gear should b good for another 15-20 mph its just having the power to get it there if there is no limiter
