That's right, good example a ford mustang GT, what a waste of metal, a Nissan 370Z has more power and is a v6

Guys ... where does Toyota make the normal Yarii that come to the US.
We have a factory in Europe, France where they make the normal Yaris. The TS is only made in Japan so I guess that's why they don't sell it in the US. And believe me ... you are not missing out on anything spectacular. With the money difference you can pimp out a 1.5 Yaris, and make it look 10 time better than the TS. The only great things about the TS are the monster brakes and the indicators. I am really sad ... I can only do so little to it.

we got crappy yaris... but thats not true whatsoever.. we usually get way better cars than japan... Usually their top contenders end up being more powerful overhere... or on paper atleast... Europe is the one that gets everything bangin fast

Not really dude. We don't get the real US muscle. Cadillac sells only the CTS here. The rest ... are personal imports ... and that's expensive.

Yeap.... you don't need to import it. You just need the engine and ECU from a Scion xD. From what I can see on my TS against a regular 1.5 1NZ the only difference is the engine mount on the left side of the engine. You will need to use the one from a xD as well. Other than that, the other supports are the same. It should be a pretty straight forward swap. If you could find the engine for cheap, then this swap will put you on the same power level a blitz supercharged Yaris... for about the same cost. But with more potential for improvement. We all remeber the infamous Richard Holdener making 145whp out of this 2ZR engine with his bolt ons..... |

Oh... and regarding the TRC Kompressor Yaris...
That is an amazing and clean looking set up... But iirc the full kit was over $10K out of the reach for 99.99% of the yaris owners. A real shame. |

xD with ECU can be had for under $2000 and remember you'll make more torque at a lower RPM with the 1.8 :)

...No replacement for displacement.
I'm sure this swap will be popular within a couple of years... The Yariss are just starting to change hands... as soon as it becomes a more affordable second hand car... I'm sure we will see more "creative" mods out there.... Turbotoyotas (NOT that I would advise anyone buying anything from them...) is finally finishing their turbo kit for the xD. That is a start for this platform. From what I can see.... everything is out there.... suspension, LSD's we just need boost.... for the 2ZR |

2000$ for new, or a junked/rebuilt engine from a crash? it's tempting to go to 1.8, but couldn't a big bore or atleast swap out the top half of the motor?
or is it really that much different of an engine? |

it'd be easier/more reliable to do a full swap.
the second you take a motor apart you've just reduced the reliability, so be prepared to do it again. |
