OK, I had a few of these made for fun and to try out on my own car. They aren't NST but they are good quality 6061 aluminum.
Available in the MI store now, until we run out.

I put a 3" one on my car today. WOW is all I can say. The knob is now in a natural position for all-around and performance shifting. This is one of those "why the heck didn't I think of that a year ago" mods. ESPECIALLY combined with the NST short shift kit.
If you don't have the short shift kit, consider getting both of these items as a package, you will be really glad you did!

an "s" curved one would have to be made in such a way that it tightens at exactly the correct angle. I'm not sure how easy that is to engineer?

You could just include a nut. Put the bolt on first, put the then the extension on. Angle the extension the way you want it, then reverse twist the nut, till it tightens.
Thats how the Skunk2 shift knobs go in the Hondas. Since the Skunk2 was metal, and theres no extra play, like the stock shifter has, the extra nut would tighten the shifter where you kept it. Hope that made sense. |
