i can't see why (other than the alarm) anything could possibly affect your engine.

sucks

If the car is under warranty and the dealer takes longer than one day to fix it a loaner is supposed to be provided under the warranty.

well for my replacement air filter that voided the warranty for that part cuz it's an aftermarket piece. the lady said the electronics is being messed up cuz of aftermarket pieces but it's not a known fact yet since they still have to check out my car. also, i'm not old enough to qualify for a loaner car ><

huh ?? how come an air filter voided the warranty? You're just doing maintenance on the car, aren't you ?

nope no maintenance. anything that isn't installed by the toyota dealership or doesn't have any mark saying it's a toyota part will be called and considered "aftermarket" so my Blitz air filter voided the warranty on the "intake" part of the engine...

heh, unless the dealer can prove, properly prove with tests, that your aftermarket part is the cause of a problem, it is illegal for them to void any warranty.

if you want to know more, google Magnussen Moss Act.

also, here are more info on the Cali Lemon Law...pdf format.

not necessarily. i think the only non API and SAE approved oils (if any) won't be under warranty if the dealer find it to be the cause of the problem.

hahaha, be professional about it when you bring it up to them.
do a little more research on it so that you can counter anything they throw at you.

alright just got off the phone with the toyota rep that's helping me. got transfered to her tech foreman and he told me that one or more of my "aftermarket" electrical wiring is tapped into a main power unit that feeds the speedometer (i really forgot the name of the item he called it so i'm trying my best to describe it) or something rather. he also said that i have about three or four trouble codes being shoot out form my cars computer. something to do with camshafts, something to do with the power steering, something to do with the speedometer and the rest of the electronics and something else. so i had to tell him all the stuff i've added to the car (auto start two way pager clifford 50.5x alarm, foglights, alpine headunit) and now they have to do more diagonogstics (bad spelling) on my car. ><

ouch, (can't remember if you said this), but did you install everything you added yourself? if not, go back to the place you went to and tell them your situation. not sure if that'll do anything, since, although i hate to say it, Toyota is getting closer to pinpointing the problems to your mods.

i never touch the wiring by myself so i always went to a shop that's been doing wiring and tinting windows for 12 years. i don't know the exact location of the place so yea but all i know is that it's near bayview hunter's point (dont want to take bus there) and yea....the toyota technician is getting closer to pointing the problem with my mods ><

Here's to three weeks of non-pollution (me wasting gas) and to sadness (no car driving for long time)

hmmm, can you call the place and tell them the situation? if they've been dealing with wiring for 12 years, they should know better and not mess up your car. also, if you call them and they deny anything (and you have proof that you had work done there), check the Better Business Bureau to see if they're under their supervision, and file a complaint that their work has caused a serious problem with your vehicle. be prepared though, they will ask you to fax them paper work.

you can also check with the Bureau of Automotive Repair.

hope everything works out for ya.

i highly doubt it has anything to do with their installations...what i think is the cause of it (since everything has been happening after it) was the day my friend and i took the $150 BuddyClub voltage stabilizer out of my car (which i got for free from another friend.) Week after that was my bicycle accident (not motorcycle) then week after that was car problems.......
