Awesome pictures made for an easy install!
Thank you CTScott, richard rsp & 12BusYaris,
I just recently bought my second Yaris(2012). My daughter took the first one (2009) to college. I was disappointed that it didn't have cruise control seeing as it had all the other power options. I was thrilled when I found this site and learned how easy it was to remedy. I bought the stalk online for about $58 with shipping and it took about 30 minutes tops to install. Just need to cut the hole in the cover piece. Anyone have measurements for that? Thanks again! |

Also, with the cruise control stalks and the clutch switches, I always have some on hand and sell them for a fraction of retail.

CC Stalk install on my 2013 Yaris L Automatic
Got my CC stalk from CTScott 2 weeks ago, but a family emergency kept me from installing it until now.
Got home from work just before 7pm tonight, parked in the garage and popped the hood of my 2013 Yaris L automatic in Absolutely Red so I could disconnect the negative terminal of the battery before I removed the air bag from the steering wheel. Went upstairs, changed my clothes, and started the install... Parked with the steering wheel upside to make removing the airbag easier. Removed the lower#2 steering wheel cover (on side of steering wheel), and then pushed in the 3 pins that hold the airbag, as described in other threads, and the airbag pops off very easily. Took a couple of minutes to find the pins, but easy once I did find it. Located the horn wire, and removed it. Placed it aside, as it won't be needed anymore. Pulled the CC stalk out of the box that it was mailed in Slide it into where the lower#2 steering wheel cover was removed, and screw the 2 screws in to hold it in place. Plug the 2 connectors attached to the stalk into the same connectors that I earlier removed the horn wire from. The airbag just pushes back on and clicks into place, and the CC stalk is where it should be... Reconnected the battery, turned the ignition on, turned the CC on, and the dash light turns on just like it should. Took it for a short drive, and everything works exactly like it should. The best $40 investment in this great little car I could make! The whole process took me from 7:04 pm until 7:25, and that included talking to my neighbor for 5 minutes when he got home from work. Thanks CTScott and yarisworld!!! |

^Nice!
By the way, I recently acquired a batch of the replacement covers for the side of the 2012-2013 steering wheel, which have the hole for the cruise control stalk. They are $5 shipped in the US.

Hi everyone, I am new here, and from australia.
I have a Yaris YR 5 door (base model, 1.3 manual) I have "acquired" a OEM cruise control stalk and cable, I can fit it into the steering wheel no worries, the cruise light comes on, though can not set the speed. Would this be because of the clutch switch?. I have tried Toyota, and they werent really much help. Though they did come back with a $90 part. I do have to push the clutch in to start the vehicle to begin with though, so i would assume it would already have one?. Could someone please shed some light for me? THanks. |

wiring diagrams
[QUOTE=CTScott;615019]I recently obtained the wiring diagrams for the 2012 Yaris. Much of the wiring and connectors remain the same as the second generation Yaris. This is the case for cruise control, so 2012 Yaris owners can DIY cruise control using the same OEM stalk.
For the 2012 the wiring is the same as that of the 2009-2011 Yaris, where the wiring from the ECM to the steering column is (theoretically) there. Also, the 2012 Yaris has the cruise control "On" and "Set" indicators built into the instrument cluster. CTScott Hello, if you have wiring diagrams for the 2012 Yaris, you help us and us with them? Please much. |

Hello everyone. I bought the pieces of picture 1, I installed according to picture 2 3.4, but the result was negative, to me does not work. I 1ND-TV engine, 1.4 D4D 66kW respectively. Can someone help me? You need to do something else than I did? Have to change terminals 1 and 2 of the 4-pin connector in the 10 pin?

You have everything installed in the proper place, but according to the wiring diagrams the 1ND-TV Yaris does not support cruise control. Check the connector on the other end of the spiral cable, which is located under the cover for the lower part of the steering column. The question is if the two wires are present there that would connect to the cruise control stalk wires under the airbag.

I understand the need to loosen the screw from the one in picture 1 and picture 2, but do not know exactly what wires need to see, you have a picture of what should I see there?
