As I predicted, it was one of the coolest things I think I've done. I'm really fascinated by the whole thing.

I was his most vocal opponent when he first came here. Ask him! However, you do a lot of growing up between 20 and 23 and the older I get the more I see a need for people like him. I think its fascinating to totally disconnect from all of the things that really make America America, as sad as it is. Its really cool, man. One day it'll be awesome to be like him, but until then he's a lone warrior... while we run around humping money and "things." I say respect it.

I respect everyone. But he attacked me when I said that having higher PSI=less contact patch, and what happens if a deer runs out?

As for deer, yes, I run into them on the roads here, too. Also coyotes, quail, rabbits and the occasional black bear. I have never had difficulty avoiding them.

All,

There simply is no room in fuel economy discussions for alarmism or "doomism". Please stop with the venom and rhetoric or I will have this thread locked.
But I didn't attack back. Just said that when I hit my deer, I was paying attention. And they call them "accidents" for a reason.

I just avoid his posts now, so he doesn't have to threaten to get them closed for someone making a valid point.

But cool interview, Charles.

We were talking about that. I think that is one thing that makes Yarisworld a tough beast to tame. We have so many ideologies here. He isn't the only CleanMPGer, but then we have some that are total gearhead HP freaks and others that are totally apathetic to the whole thing. Its remarkable they can even coexist, IMO.

Yeah, true. I just thought he acted a bit dramatic about it.

He could of just been like "Yeah, true. The contact patch is smaller, but I've never noticed a difference. And that's the risk I take for better MPG. And this is a fuel economy discussion."

Instead of " I'm telling daddy moderator!! "

And I'm sure he'd let you drive his Suby. The thing is just.. gah.. makes me want one. It is the best sounding car I've ever heard, for real.
