Might be up for hosting something here one weekend.
Between the driveway, and garage, we could fit a dealers worth of Yaris here, lol. |

Its definitely overdue.
Nutz, Joe could help you out... I am working on a way to do it right now without opening your headlights, too. Either way, one of us could help. EDIT: Party at Chris's house. |

Hey, here is a question for you spray tint guys. How are you buffing this to a gloss? Just some elbow grease and a shop rag or what?

Once its the darkness I like, I would take 2500-3000grit and wet sand with dish soap every so lightly. This will removed any little dust or airborn dirt that settled as the piece was drying.
Then a few coats of clear to give it that gloss look (or matt look, depending on the clear you want/choose), all while protecting them from the sun. Over time, the tint will start to fade, turn greyish, if not protected with a clear over the top... ask me why I know this. After your few coats of clear have sat for a few days, give it some good lay up time, you can then repeat the 3000grit step, and buff until your hearts content! |

Chino, is that an exterior paint job? I would much rather try that than opening them up. Also, someone needs to come out with a damn aftermarket QUALITY projector headlight.
Oh and about a meet...I think NJ and OH would be within a decent days drive away. |

jdubau55, it is on the exterior. It is the famed "Niteshades" spray tint that is a staple in the ricer's pantry. I am just partial to the smoked look and after going the vinyl route and seeing the nice results some of our members had with the spray, I figured what the hell. I spent a good hour taping outlines and getting them perfect. My Yaris doesn't have a lazy eye or anything. If you're going to do this, get it right the first time... tape everything, avoid overspray, do it in a warm, dry place free of dust and dirt, and let them dry before installing on the car. Chris, thanks for the tips. I'll be sure to buff them out and clear them tomorrow. |
