We'll just wait for YOUR WOT video after you install the Power Enterprise S/C.

NO WOT cause his pulley might fall off and his wrong size 225/40/18's might just hinder performance even more.....

whooppee, are you experiencing pre-ignition? Kurokuma-kun is.

I'm not. I don't think I ever have. What does a "knock" actually sound like?

clk clk clk clk clk. Sorta like that. You'd have to be there.

It kinda sounds like if you put a couple of pebbles in an empty Coke can and shook it. It happens mostly under heavy load.

sounds sort of like a knocking sound, hence the term knocking.

at least it sounded like a knocking coming from my dads grand national when it started knocking a year ago

i think i am when i went to new jersey yesterday i was cruising down the highway with the s/c set on low (being the position the s/c engages at roughly 10% throttle) and at about 60mph to 65mph and throttle position at 5% to 8%, periodically i noticed my a/f ration go from the normal 14 to 16 the car was leaning out and then it would shoot all the way to 10 being rich then back to the normal 14. i need to upgrade the spark plugs that should solve that issue. so preignition is a problem but only when the s/c is engaged and usually on the low setting. plus when i start hauling ass the a/f gauge reads in the 10's pretty damn rich so spark plugs r being ordered tonight

When I first installed my S/C, I thought that I was hearing knocking all the time. I took the car to Garm's shop and he listened while I rev'd the motor to WOT. The weird noise was coming from my belt area. I'm not happy that it's occurring but I'm glad it's not knocking like when I did not have 91 octane in the tank. The sound comes and goes. Who knows, one day one of the pulleys in that area will shoot off their shaft.

Ahh, the joys of forced induction...wondering when something under the hood will disintegrate.

Until then, it's a constant sh*t-eating grin.

Yeah, I hear a wierd growling sound when I have the A/C on. I'll know more when the weather gets warmer and I have to run it more. I'll ask Jo if she hears that too. I think she has a stick.

It's kinda disconcerting, huh? Good news is that nobody has had their car blow up... yet.

She left the forum when some people were joking around and were being a little disrespectful of women.

She posts on the MicroImage Club website, however.

Sometimes I hear it when the blower is not engaged. Like when I'm parked and idling and have the hood open. It's only coming from the passenger side, somewhere along the path of the belt. Garm, Guillermo, and JR could not figure out where the sound was coming from.

One of us will solve it eventually.

If someone with a S/C doesn't know what pre-ignition sounds like, do this:

1. Drive until you're almost empty.
2. Put 2-3 gallons of the lowest octane gas into your tank.
3. Drive without boost for a couple of miles to get that 91 octane out of your fuel lines.
4. Roll down your window.
5. Boost at WOT... that nasty sound you hear is pre-ignition. Don't do this for more than a few seconds.
6. Fill up the rest of your tank with 91 octane.

I totally get this!! I haven't been driving with the 'charger on much during the winter. But at the end of last season, whenever I'd have the A/C on, and the car was idling, I'd get some nasty sounding vibration. Don't need my foot on the brake, but my parking brake would be on so the car doesn't roll away. Anyhow, couldn't locate it. Just sounded like something buzzing against something else. I'll be trying to find it again in the spring.

I hope we're not scaring anyone away from installing the next Blitz kit.
