Just an FYI Eren, I wouldn't run this tow hook on the daily, if you happen to rear end someone, it'll be bad news for your frame. The tow hook will impact the object in front of you before your crash beam can absorb any force! Which is why I'm only installing it on track days.
Registered for TRD Cup Rd. 2 @ Streets of Willow on 3/25. We will be running CCW, the same configuration I ran when the Yaris was stock. I'm excited to see how much faster the car is with the mods. :D

![]() DCSports Header, 73mm to 54mm hubcentric rings, and my new static cling numbers. :) I usually don't run hubcentric rings, but I'm tired of seeing the rust in the hubs since I don't run center caps. I'm planning to clean up the hubs/axle stubs and spraying a coat of black, to make it all purdy. :P Running my old 319 number that I used to use in Autox. I did have a set of the 503's that I HAD to buy at an event many years ago, but one flew off that same event, fml. Since the new ones are static cling, I am going to put painters tape along the edges. Headers, nuff said. HPS intake is also on the way. ;)

I was going to do the rear collars today, but decided I will do it another time when I have SS brake lines on hand. I needed to remove the flex section of the brake line in order to drop the front torsion beam mounts. I painted the hubs with Rustoleum bbq grill paint, good for 1200F. And the hubcentric rings installed, so shiny. ![]() Installed the DCSports. Big change was that cruising at highway speeds doesn't drone as much as before. I think the ecm is still adjusting the fuel trim, so I'll report back on that at a later time. Overall, the exhaust note is a little louder putt putting around town. Sounds more agressive as the revs climb. And as I mentioned earlier, quieter cruising around 65, 75, 80 mph. I love it.

So, the hubcentric rings are optional? Seems like that would be pretty important. They look really nice, too.
It's a shame Toyota puts the exhaust in the back. No one can see that beautiful header. :( Less drone on the highway is something even I would appreciate, though. |

Can't you just put a Jack under the torsion beam and then
Remove the bolts from the bushing/front mounts and kwtbthe front swing down? Seems the easiest way as the hub and hoses can stay intact and you should still be able to get a bushing press onto the bushings Fwiw I've installed hubcentric rings on both of my cars winters and summer rims as they're all aftermarket and it is by far something I will always do. Smooths out the wheels at high speeds and ensures safe and proper placement even with conical lug nuts

As long as the lug nuts are started off and snugged down by hand, once you torque them down, you won't have any problems.
The brake hard lines that are affixed to the body start to bend due to the front set of flexible hoses not having enough slack to allow the mount to swing down pass the body.

So, even without being able to tune the ECU, the intake/exhaust mods still produce positive gains? I've heard arguments for intake/exhaust mods improving performance and others for diminishing performance, but I don't know enough to know what's right.

The factory ecm is going to try and maintain a stoichiometric air fuel mixture. After installing the breathing mods, the ecm will try to adjust fuel injection to meet stoich in normal driving conditions.
I had little hope for power, I mainly did this for the noise lol. The car is slow, might as well make the soundtrack enjoyable. :D

TRD Cup Rd. 2 Streets of Willow Clockwise
The day started off nice in the morning, but then became super windy through out the day. My interior is filled with Willow Springs dirt. :( I think this is the first time TRD Cup had it's own run group! A session filled with only Toyotas! From Supercharged Corollas to big bad V8 GS400s duking it out. :D It was pretty awesome to drive our cars next to each other and then hanging out at the pits chit chatting about our set ups. ![]() Hopefully we can keep this going as a community, and maybe one day, we'll have a TRD Cup vs vtecclub run group! ![]() My PB of 1:34.69 placed me in 3rd place in Limited Class. :) I definitely need more seat time. And coilovers. Which are already ordered, just need to wait 2 months before they come in from Japan. Installed the FDA31 Beat Sonic shark fin to get rid of the antenna stalk. The color match was pretty spot on. I'm not sure how I feel about it just yet, I do miss the antenna. I'll give it another week or so before I decide to remove it. ![]()

On your car, that shark fin looks perfect. That's what they should have done from the factory.
The pokey antenna is a better fit for the 2nd gen cars, I think. Makes them look like little R/C cars.
