None of your arguments make sense either, because I can black out all of my black windows, and you wouldn't be able to see anything going on in the back.

hey, then everyone can get out of the car... again, not my problem
Both of the examples you stated will not endanger anyone and by law, is considered private.

However driving with a cell phone in one hand and a "big mac" in the other will.

Besides, laws in all states that eveyrthing you do in public is no longer private.
This is why it is legal to put a camera in any public setting, even at an ATM.

I don't hate the government itself. The government is very much needed - I hate those who are blood-sucking, tax-hiking, self-interested, republic ruining leeches within our government (on all levels, federal, state and local).

I can't stand the individuals (politicians are 99% of the time worthless), I like the concept. Our government wasn't set up to be what it is now - if it followed the traditions of our founding fathers I wouldn't have a bad thing to say about it.

My chosen career is also in the criminal justice field - cops are the last people I hate.

Last night I was gassing my wife's Yaris when a small Japanese car of some sort pulled up across the pumps. It had really dark windows, and I couldn't see inside at all. A very unattractive young woman got out. If any cop pulls her over for the no-see windows, they really ought to cut her some slack! She's doing us all a favor. That's what I'll think is going on whenever I see black windows from now on, the driver must be hideously fugly!

I disagree with the tint rules but I follow them. Here 35% all around is legal, but only recently and I waited until it was legal to get it. I think if someone is going to shoot a cop, they won't NOT try it because they don't have tinted windows, they can just have the gun hidden and whip it out.. it just sounds stupid that everyone is stopped from having dark windows because a mad man might use it to hide a gun.

Our homes aren't required to have cleared windows and someone could be pointing a gun behind blinds at whoever comes up to the door..

Of course, I do think once the driver's visibility is affected by the darkness, that should obviously be illegal as it affects safety of everyone on the road if you can't see something off to the side. But visibility of someone outside of your car looking in? None of their business..

I was getting creeped out at work when people would ask me where I live because they saw me on so and so road. Someone else joked about seeing me sing in my car.. maybe I did, idk, then when I got my new car again, people started mentioning it to me and I know I never see them in the parking lot so they must have seen me driving.

I'm sorry that's creepy and weird, I personally almost never see what another driver looks like. I've never in my two years working here seen a coworker driving. I don't understand how they saw me unless they're staring into people's cars intently looking at their faces, and I never do that. I feel like its an invasion of privacy, yes I know the roads are public but well, I don't have a reason other than its uncomfortable people can stare at you in your own private space on the road.

I really don't know how much my 35% tint blocks me now, I don't think its that dark.. but I hope it is.

wiirenet, there are differnet expectations of privacy in someone's home and someone vehicle. The constitution protects from unreasonable searches but homes are more protected there as well... Like you said if someone could have dark tinted windows on the front sides it could possibly cause them to miss something they needed to see at night and be hazardous, so it is for the safety of the driver and those around them that we can't have blacked out front side windows in Illinois. At lot of people don't agree with it, and there are plenty of people every year that get tickets for it.

It just creeps me out lol! 40-50 year old guys saying to a 22 year old girl "... I saw you in your car on ___ street today..." And I've gotten that multiple times by different people.. I just think its weird.

Its cool when its a friend but not coworkers.

Oh yea, I got it once from the Fed Ex delivery guy at my work that I see just 3 times a week... "Where do you live? I think I saw you driving this morning." I guess I'm just that weird looking that people instantly recognize me from afar

Anyway, yes I do agree it shouldnt be dark enough to affect the driver's vision. But it was dumb that no tinting (up front) was allowed in IL just up until recently.
