I'm not sure what you mean? New Jersey, or at least Newark, has some of the highest insurance rates due to a lot of theft.
My parents pay over $3200 a year in Long Island, NY and I've been quoted as high as $4400 in upstate NY for a lease on a brand new civic (although I was only 21 at the time). |

Second, that conversation should have ended real quick after you ask them to use the phone to call the cops to report a stolen debit card. |

and yes, i absolutely should have called the police. but my many warrants made me hesitate. ok kidding about the warrants. i messed up though by not calling them. after i got the car it was no cakewalk either. there were many unreturned phone calls to the dealership, missing equipment, bad service, etc. |

$214 + $15 warranty = $228/month for 72 months. $8500 financed, $5000 down, $2000 trade-in, 18.9% APR. No credit history, and unverifiable employment (cash).
Car had 8400 miles on it, so it was a used car. $13,899.00 + tax ($970) + doc. fee ($495). Registration will be extra. '07 hatchback with manual transmission, loaded with all extras like remote key, power package, ABS, air bags, blue neon light in the cabin, armrest, floor mats, 100,000 mile limited warranty thing. I got it two days ago, and I drove it 179.3 miles since filling up the tank to the stop. I got 37.8 MPG on it, and that's with reving a lot (n00b driver), driving probably 70% city and stop-and-go freeway jams, 30% interstate with 80mph. Love her already! |

how did you pay
$15,364+registration+18.9% APR on a used car, hatchback even? extended warranty? 72 month financing? 18.9% APR? n00b is right. |

I'm paying 302 per month for 60 with no money down. I didn't buy any of the extended crap nor the gap. I used one of those "blank checks" from Capital One. I sent in a fax so that I could actually get approved to pay 400 instead of the 302 otherwise they would not allow me to pay over since I have direct draft for it. They knocked 1% off for the interest rate with the direct draft which lowered the payment from 321 to the 302.

I was in pretty much the same boat as the OP. I'm going through a messy divorce and had to have a ride to work, and he'd fuxx0red my credit (580, jeebus). You do what you have to do.
This car was the smartest choice out there, for the money and the performance and the FUN. I'm looking for a better job so I can pay for it and that's not a bad thing, either, and my credit will improve after paying on it for a while, so I'll refinance later. Luckily they wouldn't approve me for more than my purchase price so I couldn't get GAP and extended warranty. The joy so far is negating any regrets. Plus being able to hand over the keys to my old car ('01 Neon in my ex's name) to my ex as he stood there gaping at my Yaris, still on the lot, was worth every penny. See ya, suckah! I hope your ex-girlfriend comes back with your RX-8, someday. |

I'm paying $337/month, no money down, for 60 months. I believe my lease rate was around 6.5%, but I can't remember. I added a few accessories to my car, which is why the cost is a bit higher.

yeah..my mistake, i thought he put something like $10k a year. my neighbor pay $5500 for 6 months and a Woodbridge rookie cop who pulled me over back in 2003 said he paid $5100 for 6 months. btw, i got pulled over because of the out of state registration and insurance on my '03 GTi. he only gave me warning but he banned me from driving the car until i have NJ registration. i said to him that i'm not gonna go crazy with NJ high car insurance rate. thats the time when he mention his rate (above) and said that i have to live the way NJ people do. after a little arguing, i ended up yelling at him and said that i will change my registration ASAP..., but don't think it will be NJ..i rather move out of state! I did move out from NJ! i hate leaving NJ..but the insurance is just too much for me. not only for cars..but for house too.

I've got a 2007 Silver Streak Mica Yaris Sedan with the Sport's Package
Rather than typing, I thought it would be easier to just post a screen shot. I got the loan for 66 months with $5,000 down So the total before financing was $16,268.99 Including tax and an alarm system with key less entry. My father cosigned for me though (780 credit score) so i think that is why i got a good rate with my ghost credit. A whopping 4 hours of negotiating though...... I am very happy with the car. I just love everything about it. |
