Kioshi- I was polite but firm. I'm 62 with grey hair and I notice that helps make me less threatening to people and more likely they will cooperate since I got older. Maybe your father or uncle etc. would consider helping by coming to the dealer with you?
Advocate- my dealer asked me to show them the original cluster inside the car before I change it so they could see the odo miles, to go home (I live very close by) and change the cluster, and then they will run the Techstream to reset the odo. That seems reasonable to me- they don't want to participate in fraud. Last edited by Lewis; 10-09-2009 at 07:01 AM. |

I wish you come come here for a day or two hahah.
My dad would be able to come to the dealer, but then again....he's really not firm, just my Mom and I...and my Mom speaks very little english :P What I'll probably end up doing is the same as you Lewis. Keeping stock on and showing the dealers first... Thanks for all the help, i really hate dealing w/ electronic add-on equipment, but really I've been wanting this cluster for a while now ;) I'll keep you updated about my situation lol.... |

good luck Kioshi
I certainly understand your desire to have a cluster with a tachometer. That desire is what started this trek for me too. Lewis |

no - Tony- not by Saturday and both Sunday and Monday no mail in USA (Monday is Columbus Day) so patience will be required. Scott made a kind suggestion that we plug it into Crashy before trying it in my car just in case there's an issue with compatibilty and the outside chance it could cause damage so I will not know if it works until I get together with Scott to test it as I think that is the saest course of action.
rest assured - I am as anxious as I can be to try it. I haven't made a date with Scott yet because you said it could take up to 3 weeks. Lew |

Lewis, could you post up the pictures of the cluster front and back, if possible. I'm sure it will fit into the allotted space...As for compatibility, there shouldn't be a problem unless the car was a hybrid or electric. A cluster for an automatic tranny or CVT tranny will work fine w/ a manual transmission, already tested by people on here.
Does the yaris the cluster came off of have a different ECU than the rest of the Yaris models, if not, no worries... Last edited by Kioshi; 10-11-2009 at 09:26 PM. |

The connector on the right side (from your pic) looks to be moved to a vertical position, instead of horizontal but the connector looks same as my clusters. The piece in the front is what bothers me, I will take a pic of the area inside or see if it would accomodate that into the space..
thanks Mad Dog for the image.. |

LOL I just tried out my cluster and took a pic of the inside. Was going to post it here but you beat me to it....
By the way, the connector on the right looks to be bigger on the OZ cluster compared to our clusters.... maybe its just the picture :( UPDATE: On my cluster, the passenger seat belt and passenger air bag indicator does NOT turn on w/ my new cluster...it does w/ the stock USDM cluster~ AND the gauges on new cluster aren't dim-able~~ Last edited by Kioshi; 10-12-2009 at 01:12 AM. |

remember guys- a watched pot never boils
the package will arrive when the post office and customs say it will arrive! luckily the next couple of weeks are mostly open for me so if Scott's schedule is flexible we can do this pretty quickly when it comes we are about 2 - 2 1/2 hours drive from one another so the trip is not a big obstacle .......and after Scott if all works out there - we have my trip to my friendly Toyota dealer to do the Techstream flash- to me the job isn't done until I see mph on the screen with the correct odometer miles this is like a soap opera- patience will definately be needed- me thinks I will be celebrating my new cluster on Thanksgiving!
