New Guy from Kansas City

Hi all my wife and I just purchased a Brand New 2013 Yaris. I will admit at first sight it seemed like it would be too small but the interior proved to actually be quite roomy and the car is peppy. We like our new addition to the family and hope it does well for us in the coming years. I guess I need more posts to post some pictures.

WELCOME!
The interior is pretty big - I just turned over 4,300 miles when I pulled up to my morning coffee stop today. That's since April 11, 2013 - will be 6 months driving mine the October 11 - Mine has been flawless & I still just love driving this little car, it is so awesome. I drive around here usually 45-50 mph and as you can see by my fuelly signature below, the mpg's have been great. I have not even taken it on a steady 65-70 mph interstate drive yet, that should bump the mpg's up a lot. POST PHOTOS!
Enjoy the Yaris & WELCOME!

WELCOME!

AWE-RIGHT! Another Coupe! This car looks SO much better with 2 doors rather then 4. I know folks like/need the versatility of 4 doors, but a car isn't cool unless it's a Coupe

POST PHOTOS!

Hey everyone! Great pic's on the models. I'm a owner of a 2013 4 door lift back model. I like the practicability of mine. Being a solo musician, I have a lot of room to haul my gear! I'm planning if possible to add some custom touches as well.

I am pretty sure "yaris" and "cool" in the same sentence is an oxymoron... no matter how many doors are on it.

Just got a 2014 Yaris LE, 3-door. I'm so stoked about the gas mileage! I've been driving a 2000 Chevy S10 pickup toward its inevitable death, and by comparison the Yaris is immeasurably more fun (no sarcasm intended). Glad to be here!

I'd have posted this in the 3rd gen. area, but there's no "Check-in" board over there.

Yeah, I guess not! It's still pretty cool to me, especially at almost 40 mpg without a real long highway trip, now THAT'S COOL!

Welcome, yea! Another Yaris owner
The gas mileage is GREAT! I fill mine every 3 weeks or so depending on how much 'extra' driving I do - and that's at a 1/4 tank or a little less left. High seating, nice controls, still lovin' this car even after all these months...always am kinda excited to get it it and drive.

I dislike the A-shaped rear pillar on the 4-door 3rd generation. So, from side view, I think the 2-door looks pretty good. Nevertheless, I just couldn't live with the pinched-nose front end, the big chrome rear garnish, and those super ugly ill-fitting rear tails!

synthetic oil in a Yaris?

Last month, I bought a used 2008 Yaris. Since i didn`t know when the last oil change was made, I made myself an oil and oil filter change. I used Mobil 1best quality full synthetic. Browsing on Internet about Yaris engine, I stopped by this web page: http://www.gobookee.org/get_book.php...VFRCBUTyBLTk9X.
It looks like an official Toyota paper listing their car models intended for using synthetic or conventional oil. The Yaris model falls under conventional oil.
Does that mean that synthetic is not good for 1NZ-FE engine or just that synthetic is overkill for this engine?

Cool car to have and I like my 4 door '13 lift back. It will work well of what I need it for. As far as getting together with another person in my area is tough. I think I might go to the local Friday night car show and see if there's anyone there. If anything, I'll be part of the local tuner crowd.

Hi all!!

Purchased a 2010 Yaris Hatch a few months back. Put in a boot, rear and front bumper spoilers and side skirts, as well as new rims. Been wanting to start with the audio system and scratched my head trying to figure what size speakers they come standard with...until stumbling on to this site a few minutes ago that is!!

Thanks for the help, and a awesome forum!!
