ode to the yaris cupholder
yep, i think the cup holder is in a great position, especially with manual transmission-you can hold the coffee in the left hand, steer with your knees and run through the gears with your right hand....jk.

Agree, although I am driving an auto, I like it when there is at least 3 or 4 cup/bottle holder within my reach. ha ha.

lol, you have to have some variety in your beverages.
in my old car, i had to reach around the shift knob and feel around for the cup, so this is a big improvement, maybe there is the potential to spill something onto your lap with the yaris configuration, but i think it is great. |

Okay, I'm lost but intrigued. Having yet to see the cupholders (haven't looked for them in the interior photos), are they handy or not so handy?
Slightly OT- My wife's new Hyundai Tuscon has a ton of cupholders! 4 up front and 2 in back, and the ones in the front doors are big enough to hold sports bottles. Now that's handy! ~YR

the yaris only has two up front, but it has bottle holders in all 4 of the doors.
the cupholders are positioned on the dash, the driver's is on the left side of the steering wheel and the passenger is in the same spot on the right, it is a perfect spot for them, imo you don't have to reach far to get the beverage from the holder to the mouth, and this is a big deal if you drive stick and want to get a slurp before the light changes. |

Not to mention if you do NOT have an arm rest, you have one more cup holder behind your handbreak. Total 7. hehe.
And yes, I found it REALLY convience. Put a bottle of water in the door, cup of coffee in the dash and peeing cup in the middle for those long trip (j/k).

Not kidding!
I had a bottle of cream soda in the door, a coffee in the holder, and a booster juice in the rear cup holder. Hopefully the 09 and 10 models, when I'm ready for a new one, will come with a hose that you can pee into like in outer space. Good thing Saskatchewan is all fields and trees on the highway. |

Now you do all know that you can buy an inset to fit in the center console infront of your shift knob that will add another cup holder?
It is $13 and is listed in your dealers accessory listings :) S. |
