Rear wheel bearing
How do I know if a rear wheel bearing needs to be replaced?
A mechanic said he took my car for a test ride, and heard a noise from the rear wheel, but I don't hear anything! I will be taking my car to another shop for a second opinion. |

Raise the car so a rear wheel is off the ground and then try moving the top of the tire in and out. If a bearing is going there should be some unwanted play/looseness. Lower and repeat at the other side.
