TAX RETURN $$$$
So with my tax return I was planning on throwing a few things on my LB. Do some bodywork, get rims, and coil-overs... a couple of seats and a half cage if money permits.
However, I just found out my old car is for sale, and it has sentimental value to me. It got rear ended, so its a steal right now for only $2000-! Its still pretty much how I had it when it was a magazine feature car, except now it has a motor swap! I could have 2 cars and have my cake and eat it too... but the yaris would have to wait a while for more mods if I buy the jetta back... What to do, what to do? |

tough call. how bad's the damage? if it's not too bad, i'd buy it back (if it really has sentimental value). that's important. i still have to get my first R/C back from this one A-HOLE who broke it 3 years ago! i swear...if he threw it away...

Looks like maybe 1000 worth of damage if i buy used and aftermarket parts to fix... along with cheap labor.

Here is a picture of the damage, it needs...
Parts: Tailights, trunklid, and spoiler lifters (it has a speed sensitive Corrado spoiler)... Bodywork: Repair both quarter panels, trunk floor, rear pan, & rear bumper. Luckilly enough the quarter panels didnot buckle, no pinches in the rear door gaps, no buckles in the roof... Here is a picture of the damage, it looks worse than it is. |

like you said, 1000 bucks to repair, which is not that bad. and if everything's just cosmestic damage, then go for it. and that's a first, never seen a Corrado spoiler on a Jetta.

i'd get the yaris where you want it, goin back to an old car, it'll never be as good as it once was :)
The yaris, IMO at least, has much more potential to look sweet. + extra insurance. I'd say a great way to go would be get the jetta, fix it, sell it, and use the $ you would have used on teh yaris, and pocket the extra |
