Removing Windshield Washer

I want to remove the windshield washer. However, I know there is a low windshield washer fluid light that can come up on the dash. I'm wondering if I remove the reservoir if the light will be on, or if the light is disabled with the sensor unplugged. I also want to be sure there's no error code from doing this. Also, do I have to remove the headlight or do I have to remove the fender liner, or how do I remove the windshield washer reservoir?

The switch grounds when low, so just unplugging the connector will keep the indicator from coming on. To remove the reservoir your have to remove the front bumper and the headlight.

Are you looking to sell the one you are removing and do you know if it would fit a 07?

Would you be removing it for weight reduction?

Use rain-x, it helps keep stuff from sticking bad. I just wish it lasted longer.

People are really getting stupid to gain mpg.. I have done nothing to lighten up the weight of my Yaris. I get 39.5-40.5 mpg. I don't drive over 65 I use cruise and I pay really close attention to my starts.I think if you take all the glass out and cut the roof off you'll gain 8-10 mpg.

Great idea! I'll get the sawzall out and the skinnywheel in the grinder and get to work. Guess you don't need a windshield washer tank with no windshield. Sure don't need side windows either. My dog is still pissed that the Yaris hatch side windows don't open, he'll be happy to find them GONE!

I think there is a thread on here where someone actually converted the rear windows to open like side vent windows.

I've been without a washer fluid reservoir for about a year and half now and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. Not exactly sure what's so stupid about taking out something that's kinda unnecessary anyway.

Wow, I and my dog would be real interested in that, seems hard to believe! It is the ONE thing I really DON'T like about the HB.

It was discussed, but never actually done. I had one unbroken rear window from Crashy that someone was going to experiment with.

Thanks, I looked last night and couldn't find any Yaris specific. Did a Google and looked at others and wished Toyota would get their head on straight. Would have been so easy to produce pop outs. Now probably looking at major cut and weld to utilize the "Happich" styled ones.
