Do your side windows wipe clear?

Hey guys,

After driving a worn out old truck for a couple years, one of the things I was looking forward to in the Yaris was having new side window wipers that actually clear the windows when you roll them down/up. Was annoyed to find out that my car doesn't clear worth a damn. Maybe 2" on the bottom, and then a 6" wide strip going up. I would expect it to clear better than that.
It's that time of year again here (misty mornings) and I was just wondering if your windows clear nicely or not.

Thanks for the input.
Cory

I feel your pain. The window rubber does leave a bit to be desired on the Yaris indeed.

Thanks for the input. I thought the purpose of the seal was to deflect rainwater from entering the door on any car, not to act as a window wiper. It does not have a blade edge to the rubber so it cannot wipe.

I agree about the side window seal. It's main function is to keep water and debris out of the inside of the door(s).

Yaris side windows seal is not rubber finished.. it has this felt layer on it.. like a brush thing that keep it from sticking on the window.

My suzuki swift 93 actually had rubbers directly on the window.. with time, i would stick and flip back inside, which totally blow.

Thanks guys. I never really looked close at the wipers. Just saw the rubber outer part, and assumed they were only rubber. I'll take the rubber wipers over these any day. At least the rubber ones cleared for the first decade or so before drying out (here anyhow).

Mine wipe a good portion of my windows clear. However, I suggest picking up a small squeegee (I have one, plus an ice tool as I used to have thick frost on my windows). I also suggest clay barring and waxing all the windows (exterior obviously). I haven't used my wipers in about 1.5 years at least. Once I get up to 25 mph, the any water beads off the windows. Just make sure you buff off the wax, otherwise, you'll have some areas where your visibility will be blocked.
