Cup holder busted

I have a 2007 Sedan.
The driver side cup holder received an impact from a heavy object, and now the fluid opening mechanism is nonfunctional.
I can't seem to find a way to take it apart to assess the damage.
Has anyone taken apart a Yaris cup holder, or had similar symptoms?

Did you look at the pdf for the Instrument Panel?
Check out page 42, which shows how to take out the cup holder.
http://www.etimago.com/yaris/repairm...nt%20Panel.pdf

Otherwise, from page 40, it appears that you would have to take out the
whole Instrument Panel, and remove 3 screws from behind?

Let us know how you solve this issue.

I hate those cup holders, they usually spill fluid over your knee or soak anything you have in the small compartment under the cup holder and then with the mechanical operation it sooner or later fails, like my passenger side drink holder, refuses to lock in the closed position probably a piece of plastic worn out.I wish they had just put a recessed cup holder without the door mechanism, would have lasted the life of the car with never a problem..

Squeeze the sides together to disengage the hinge pins. Watch for the small spring to eject.
Honestly, I don't recall anything as sexy as a "fluid opening mechanism" being included in the re-assembly after mine popped apart once due to a side impact.
