Brake caliper rewind tool for rear brake piston
Looking for a Brake Caliper Rewind Tool that fits rear brakes on Yaris MK 2.
Any tips on dimensions of the piston or cheap tools that fits? Thanks! |

Tools are cheap enough to buy. Better yet, maybe some of your automotive supply stores have a loan-a-tool program. Needle nose pliers will work but may involve some colourful language in your part.

My apologies. I've never actually done the brakes on my Yaris. The C-clamp method has worked on everything else I've worked on so it was my default option. Please ignore my advice.

sst and sst only! needle nose pliers are not a good idea, you will scratch up the surface of the piston

having just done the xb2 a few weeks back i can tell you 2 things, you need to push a a lil as you turn it and you need to verify the direction of rotation...not all of them are clockwise
with that said i had to turn one both directions to "free" it up so it would finnaly actualy thread in, and found that too much pressure and it wont, too little and it will just spin in the end tho i didnt need a tool..tho the xb ones have nice grab notches on the edge of the piston so you can pretty much do it by hand |

I did put the order on hold due to a question:
I have a manual old fashioned hand brake (no electronic parking brake or park button). Do I need a rewind tool then, or is that just for the electric motor in the e-brake? |

The electric parking brake systems have to be put in service mode with a scanner then the piston usually get compressed straight in. Use the cube to wind in the older style calipers.
