Driver steering wheel has an airbag in it. You will lose that with an aftermarket wheel.
Both seats have airbag sensors. You can retain functionality by wiring in a small circuit, otherwise, your airbag system will probably not function correctly.

I know in my Echo, only the passenger seat had the airbag sensor. The driver's seat only had a seatbelt sensor.

The driver's side one just detects the position of the seat and can be moved over to a replacement seat. The passenger side has the passenger occupancy ECU, which weighs the contents of the seat using 4 load cells that are mounted within the seat frame. I developed and sell a module that plugs into the passenger occupancy ECU and responds to the LIN Bus messages from the ECU, pretending to be the 4 sensors. The module has a switch that allows you to choose to have the airbag active or off (where it either tells the ECU that the seat is empty or is occupied by a 150 lb person).

don't the seats in the 09+ have side airbags IN the seats????
here in the land of the Igloos (Canada) our Yaris's now come with 6 airbags (all models) - doesn't that put the side ones in the seats (then 2 more on the dash and 2 in the roof) ??? Will |

Yes, the 09+ have the side airbags in the seats. When replacing the seats, you simply connect a 3 ohm resistor in place of the seat squib to keep the SRS ECU happy.

Besides the passenger side ocs bypass for a 12+, what else would I need to at least install a drivers side Sparco in a 2013 and not have any lights pop up?

The driver's side is easy - Just move the seat position sensor from the rail of the OEM seat to the rail of the new seat.
