Gear shift.

i was trying to race my frinds lexus LS 430 with my yaris sedan automatic that day:P just for fun... anyways i noticed that i was already at the speed of around 60km/h when i pressed the gas pedal completely and when i reached about the speed of about 110 km/h the rpm was somewhere near 7000.... then it shifted... is that normal? i know its an automatic but still should i be worried about it or is it perfectly normal? the gear shifts smooth when im driving normal n i dont like to speed so much but this once i was really speeding n i noticed it...
thnks

AC turns off itself when you are flooring it. i know this from a very reliable source.

but yes, if you press hard, it will eventually shift near 6500rpm.

The AT will shift early, at 6000-6100 RPM. If pushed it will shift at a higher RPM. I think the ECU is adaptive, but I don't think 7000 RPM is normal.

A little off-topic but in-topic The ECU is adaptive when i drive me wifes SD it's very sluggish and shifts to soon after a day or 2 with me and my Wife can notice that the car takes more time to shift. So we have to driving styles the cardapts to her and shifts fast it adapts to me and holds the shift longer.... I might be crazy but then my wife is too!

it does that... that is normal... it is actually a common thing for transmission shops to see a car monday morning when it "shifts funny"... the smart tech's first question is "did someone borrow your car this weekend?"... if the answer is yes, then they ask who borrowed it, and then check to see if there actually is a problem... 9 times out of 10, there is no problem and it was just the adaptive learn...

It depends on many factors affecting the car's transmission shift/response. Flooring it on a flat road, no wind, trunk empty, no passenger is more likely to shift earlier than say, driving on an uphill.

At redline, a quick glance at the tach, and you are more likely to think it's near 7000rpm.

I did some work with a race track 2 weeks ago. Most of the time we spent there was at the building at the drag strip. There were a couple of guys out there “testing” there stuff. Before I left I pulled up next to a Duster. It had a 350 with a blower and I did not look at the rest.

I do know I jumped the start by a mile. Well I lost and I was not racing but I was having fun. It did sift around 5,500 into second and third. It did not shift into overdrive till I let off the gas but I drove nice at 94 mph. I do think the speedometer is off by 3% but I thought that biased off the GPS (it could be that I look at it form the side.

I did not floor it and I did not give it everything it had. I had my wife sitting next to me and all of our junk in the back of the car.

Yes have more people in the car would affect when it will shift.
