I NEED HELP!!!

my car went for service 3 days ago. Toyota told me that my water pump is leaking and it needs to be replaced!! they are charging me 500 for a new water pump not including labour.....

i was wondering where i could buy a new water pump for my yaris..
its a 1.5 hatchback 2006 1nzfe model please help!!!

If you are out of warranty i'd go to your local corner mechanic/talyer and have the job done for half of what the dealer is charging. If you can do the job yourself the waterpump can be had for less than $100, or around $60 from this link.

Your dealer quote of $500 for just the part is outrageous if you are talking the equivalent of American dollars and explains why most people hate dealers,over here American built car dealers are closing everywhere due to economics,all i can say is

New pump $60, an hour of cussing and an hour to mount it I changed mine out it doesn't take very long.

Bending over and getting raped by the dealer FTL. Seriously DIY or take it to a local mechanic. Guaranteed it will cost half as much if not less.

thanks for all of the advice.... i am going to go buy a water pump from a guy in the local area which he will chip from america or japan.... then get a local to install it!!

Although it isn't a water pump, when I needed a new fuel pump for a 92 Lexus the dealer wanted $350, Toyota was asking $250. I got it from Auto Zone for $100.
