Crank, no start. Running out of ideas.
Hi all.
2008 Yaris sedan. Daughter went to go somewhere yesterday but the car would not start. Cranked fine, but sounded like it was out of gas (it’s not). I couldn’t hear the pump running, but some are pretty quiet and I have no prior experience with this car. Only code was for crank sensor, and I figured that was it, as it would cause this issue, but that wasnt it. Checked at the fuel pump, no power with key on, but only I have 8 volts at one wire all the time, key on it off. Found a few threads here and went through a few things. Integration relay shows 301 ohms between 2-3, post said under 100, but will trigger relay with 9v battery. C/opn relay testing was a little odd. 4b-9 to 4e-5 showed 167.1 ohms, Post said should be under 100. 4a-8 to 4b-11 showed 12v 4b-9 showed 12v when ignition on 4e-5 showed no change when ignition on. Did not go to ground. Would that mean the ECM is bad? Can they do that that quick, from working fine one day to not the next? What do I need to know, if that’s it, to get a replacement? Thanks for any help. |

Hello,
Did you test the voltage drop between the center of the battery post to body ground and the center of the battery post to the starter? Maybe it's just corroded. |
