For the diesel, your only option is an aftermarket complete system.

Lots of good info here, thanks for having it as a resource CTScott! I've learned a lot reading through the threads about adding OEM cruise.

I'd like to purchase a wiring kit and indicator from you for my 07 LB AT, tried sending you a PM but looks like there's a minimum post requirement. Sent you a PM, if duplicate then I apologize in advance.

Cruise Control Installed!

Scott,

Thanks for the cruise control kit for my 2014 Yaris L. Just as you said, it was easy to install, really plug and play. Took about 20 mins. and the wiring you included for stalk and horn wire made connections simple.

If I can do it anyone can!

Cruise Control Kit 08 Liftback (3door) Manual

I am looking for a Cruise Control Kit 08 for a Liftback (3door) Manual. I am open to either style (stock or switch). I am new to the forum so i don't believe it will let me send a PM. Do you have anything available?

Any procedure that requires 34 pages of documentation may seem intimidating, but this installation is really not difficult. I tried to add as much detail as possible to clarify the parts where people who have installed cruise control have had questions.

This guide is broken up in to seven sections encompassing the following:

Section 1: OEM Cruise Control Stalk Installation.
Section 2: Steering Column Connector D3 Pin Installation
Section 3: ECM Connector A21 Pin Installation
Section 4: Connecting the ECM Pin to the Steering Column Pin Through the Firewall
Section 5: Cruise Control Clutch Switch Installation
Section 6: Optional Cruise Control Indicator Module Installation
Section 7: Verifying Operation

Hi, new here and just wanted to say thank you to CTScott for this awesome DIY! Installed it in my 09 liftback within an hour and it is working flawlessly. Pulled the parts from a 08 Yaris at the junk yard and, believe it or not, it had that same DIY done to it by the previous owner! Not bad at all, especially since it only cost me 6$!

Would a 2015 five door L automatic U.S. Yaris only need the stalk and wiring to plug in to clock spring and horn? If so do you have parts for this?

I have a question about my Yaris. I bought it in Las Vegas and I want to make sure that the ECU will tolerate the cruise control. It's a 2007 model. It says that it was manufactured in Japan, but it's a Toyota and that's where they're all manufactured, right? Just want to clarify that this method will work before I start rounding up the parts.

Yes - For your car, as with all American market Yaris, cruise control will work.

Hi Scott, if I was to use a switch and LED to do a basic setup, could you pinpoint the essential wires ? Would a lighted 4 way switch work as a CC stalk and on/off indicator or do the CC indicator module would still be needed to act as a smart relay ? I have a '07 3dr LB, Canada. PM me the details if possible.

Thanks

Just used your guide to install a stalk and wiring. Worked great! The only thing I ran into was that I read the part about the indicator as "Yes: You'll need the indicator kit" or "No: You won't need the indicator kit" so I was a little disappointed when no light came on in the cluster but so happy to have cruise control on this car! Might have to get the indicator kit sometime just to have it in there.

Well, we're on our first road trip with the cruise control and it hasn't been completely smooth. The on/off button doesn't seem to work reliably the first time after starting the car. After you get it to come on the first time, it works great.

Is this just a problem with the switch/stalk i got? Is the control just a resistor ladder and could i just install a momentary switch with a resistor across the leads?
