slightly off engine swap questions xb vs yaris

ok so ive been digging and the reality is that there is more information here than any other place ive looked..but ive exhausted my searching so im left to ask

how different is a first gen scion xb from a yaris SPECIFICALY in the engine bay

we might be grabbing a cheep clean blown engine XB...05?, and im fully aware it uses the EXACT engine our lil yari' do, so my brain got thinking..if it needs an engine why not do a swap?

if the 2zrfe fits and works in a yaris certainly it should be pretty much the same swap in an XB....but everything ive seen in regards to said swap on a yaris always leads to a lil confusion around the ABS and generation of the car

so lets say i wanted to swap the 2z into a 07 yaris..what rules change?..and what rules change in regardes to NON abs?

ill know more on the scion this weekend

Should be pretty much the same job, its the same car with a different body shape really. But their are scion forums Ive seen just like this that have all that info. Could try asking here https://www.clubxb.com/forums/

Yeah same rear trailing arm, you would only need the yaris hand brake cables.

The 2nd gen xB has rear disc, also 5 lugs 5X114.3. Still trying to find out if rear axle frame will fit the Yaris...

The 2ZR from an xD is more of a straight swap. I've thought about dropping in a 2AR in my Yaris, it's heavier though. You might want to grab the engine and transmission from a tC instead.
This guy was able to squeeze out 270HP out of a 2AR and he's installed it in his MR-S, he's also put a 1GR and 2GR in his MR-S:

a 2AR-FE in a Yaris would make it brutally front heavy, also FrankensteinMotorworks is an encyclopedia on MR2s, GR and AR engines. Super knowledgeable dude.
